Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for Feb. 27, 2019

WHO’S HOT
Global Campaign, who just missed making the cut last week, moves into the top 20 owing to the defection of Maximus Mischief. He is scheduled to make his stakes debut on Saturday at Gulfstream in the Fountain of Youth, a race that has lured six members of the Derby Watch top 20. He is 20-1 on the Kentucky Derby line set by Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form’s national handicapper.
WHO’S NOT
It was noted in the chart last week that there was concern over the status of Maximus Mischief, owing to his poor Holy Bull performance and lack of works since that race. And then after a poor work last weekend at Gulfstream, he was pulled off the Triple Crown trail, and thus pulled off this list.

ON THE BUBBLE
There could be quite a bit of movement on this list by next week, as eight Derby Watch members are scheduled to race in coming days, including six in the Fountain of Youth and one each in allowance races Friday at both Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita. Recent stakes winners Anothertwistafate and Well Defined are among those who have been considered for inclusion on the list, as well as Dessman and Roadster, who are entered against Derby Watch member Nolo Contesto in that allowance race at Santa Anita on Friday. And with several recent winners like Spinoff, it looks like Todd Pletcher is readying for his annual attack on the 3-year-old preps.
