Locked, the 3-year-old colt who does not yet have a next start mapped out for him, has been made the 10-1 morning-line favorite among individual betting interests in the fourth Kentucky Derby future wager, which will open on Friday at noon. The overall favorite is the “all others” entry, which comprises all 3-year-olds in the U.S. other than the 39 individual interests in the pool. The “all others” entry, which was favored in all three of the preceding future wager pools, is listed at 2-1. The pool closes at 6 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. The minimum bet is $2, with win and exacta betting on offer. Only one major prep for the Derby is scheduled this weekend, the $400,000 Risen Star Stakes at Fair Grounds in New Orleans. Seven of the 14 runners in the race are listed as individual entrants in the pool. The winner of the race will earn 50 qualifying points to the Derby, which will virtually assure the horse a berth in the Derby field. :: KENTUCKY DERBY 2024: Derby Watch, point standings, prep schedule, news, and more
