Black Caviar extended her unbeaten streak to 17 races with an easy win in Friday’s Group 2 Australia Stakes at Mooney Valley Racecourse, her first start in 11 weeks.
On turf and synthetic courses, Musir was unbeatable in Dubai in January. Thursday, Musir won the $200,000 Al Rashidiya Stakes over about 1 1/8 miles on turf at Meydan Race Course. On Jan. 12, Musir won the first round of the Maktoum Challenge on Meydan’s Tapeta surface.
Orfevre, winner of the Japanese Triple Crown and the Arima Kinen against older horses on Christmas Day, has been named Japan’s 2011 Horse of the Year.
