How to Bet Woodbine's Pick 4 - July 7, 2013

Here's my race-by-race rundown of Sunday's pick four at Woodbine on July 7, 2013. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com. I'm betting in increments of $0.50 with a budget of $100.00.

Race 8 (Singspiel S.)

FORTE DEI MARMI (#2) was a competitor in top turf races here last summer/fall and while his form has tailed off since he may still have enough to bet these. He’s working strongly. PERFECT TIMBER (#6) looks like an up-and-comer for Attfield. A bullet turf work here June 26 says he’s doing well. ALDOUS SNOW (#8) ran on decently for 4th here May 25. That was just his 2nd start of the year so he might now be set for his best.

Race 9 (Highlander S.)

SOMETHING EXTRA (#10) comes here sharp and his Grade 2 Connaught Cup win was flattered as the horse he beat (Riding the River) came right back to win a Grade 3. GO BLUE OR GO HOME (#9) came back firing off a long layoff to win a stakes on PID’s synthetic. He may be even better on this ground. NIGHT OFFICER (#1) is on top of his game with 3 strong turf sprint stakes tries (1 win) this year. FATAL BULLET (#6) and PASO DOBLE (#8) just ran 1-2 in a strong turf sprint here.

Race 10 (Queen's Plate)

UP WITH THE BIRDS (#7) looked super blasting rivals in the Marine here May 26 and the way he stormed home says he’ll have no trouble with today’s added ground. DYNAMIC SKY (#2) rallied gamely to win the Plate Trial over many of these. His only dull outings came in his 2 U.S. Grade 1 tries. HIS RACE TO WIN (#11) finished full strongly to be a sharp 2nd to ‘SKY in the Plate Trial so he surely fits. PYRITE MOUNTAIN (#10) was favored in the Plate Trial and ran on for 4th after a sluggish start. He could bounce back.

Race 11 (Allowance Race)

PHIL’S DREAM (#1) goes for his 3rd straight as he appears on the upswing after being gone almost 2 years. His last came on turf and he may be better on this footing. A bullet work June 30 says he’s sharp. RAINCOATS’NTUXEDOS (#6) found stakes foes too much to handle here May 20 but he’s been freshened and drops and that may do the trick. He’s also reunited with Da Silva who’s been up for his best work.

My wagers

With TicketMaker I'm able to put greater emphasis on my "A" selections while still having coverage with my "B" and "C" picks just in case. I came out $6.00 under budget.
