How to bet Saturday's Aqueduct Pick 4
Here's my race-by-race rundown of Saturday's Guaranteed $250K Pick 4 at Aqueduct. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com.
Race 6: Claiming ($23,000)
I'm using three runners in the opener, looking for a closer in a race that seems to have enough pace to set up a rallier. OCEAN SEVEN (#10) is the likely favorite but I'm using PERVIS (#9) equally.
Race 7: Maiden Special Weight ($50,000)
Very tough MSW sprint, as there are several firsters in here. Without a look at the board, it's impossible to know who takes money, though there is a Daily Double starting with the 6th race, and some players may want to gauge those payouts for a hint of information.
Race 8: Long Island Handicap (Grade 3)
EMERALD BEECH (#6) looks tough at a relatively short price, and is the most likely winner, but MEKONG MELODY (#7) does rate an upset chance, and merits inclusion as a "B".
Race 9: Maiden Special Weight ($41,000)
Interesting maiden turf race where you want to have some coverage. I'm using five of them in all but if there's a key scratch which frees up some bankroll in an earlier race this is where I'd go a little deeper.
My wagers
With TicketMaker I'm able to put greater emphasis on my "A" selections while still having coverage with my "B" and "C" picks just in case. This allows me to maximize my budget for this Pick 4.
