How to Bet Hollywood Park's Pick 6 - July 6, 2013
Here's my race-by-race rundown of Saturday's pick six at Betfair Hollywood Park on July 6, 2013. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com. I'm betting in increments of $2.00 with a budget of $300.00.
Race 5 (Royal Heroine Mile S.)
SCHIAPARELLI (#3) comes here hot to the touch and while all that good work has been sprinting she’s certainly bred to go at least this far. Her speed can have her in the thick of it from the start. STORMY LUCY (#1) came back from a long layoff (7 months) with a fine rallying 4th in a stakes here June 9 and might now be set for her best. I DAZZLE (#6) ran decently to be 3rd in a Grade 2 on the main track but this looks like a better situation due to the surface.
Race 6 (Maiden Special Weight)
SPY GIRL (#2) has worked strongly for Miller who has superb debut-win numbers. Her 2 sibs are winners. SECRET COMPASS (#6) likewise has rehearsed well for her first run for Baffert who is strong first out. This $425K sales buy is kin to 2 winners. ONE MORE (#8) debuted in a stakes here June 14 and was a respectable 4th to the highly promising Kobe’s Back, and she had a poor start to boot. 
Race 7 (Claiming Race)
FOREVER FREEDOM (#4) tumbles in class for her first start in almost a year. She’s worked steadily and trainer Mitchell is not only strong with a big drop but also off a long layoff. Talamo sees fit to stay. SUANCES CANDY (#12) dropped to this level, added blinkers and after a slow start pressed the pace and stayed on well for 3rd to prove he’s a good fit. PRIME NUMBER (#9) has been knocking on the door as he seems to be quite comfortable here. 
Race 8 (Allowance Race)
SUPER ABILITY (#4) won the only time he ran on turf, and that also came at this trip. He continues his sharp form and while he has speed he isn’t a need-the-lead type. SWIFT EAGLE (#1) just missed in a big try here June 9 and with his speed figures in the hunt from the start. 
Race 9 (Hollywood Gold Cup)
GAME ON DUDE (#2) is the logical single as this veteran is among the elite in the game and looks primed to defend his title. Tactically he should again get a great trip.
Race 10 (Maiden Claimer)
SUPER DICE (#14) was a strong 2nd for $50K here May 3 and good 3rd for $50K here June 14 so he comes here sharp and obviously likes it here. Today’s big drop may be just what the Dr. ordered. DRAMATIC ALLAN (#2) set a pressured pace at this level here June 22 and stayed on to be a clear 2nd. He’s progressing well and worked smartly since. ALSACE (#11) comes off an excellent 2nd, beaten just a neck here May 30. He may be ready to turn the corner.
