Eddie Haskell moving on to BC Turf Sprint

ARCADIA, Calif. – Eddie Haskell, second in Friday’s Grade 2 Eddie D Stakes at five furlongs on turf, will be pointed for the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, said trainer Mark Glatt.
Eddie Haskell closed from seventh in a field of eight to finish a half-length behind Pee Wee Reese in the Eddie D Stakes. Eddie Haskell broke from the rail and rallied well through the stretch.
“I think you can say the post beat him,” Glatt said.

Glatt does not have Breeders’ Cup plans for Collusion Illusion, who finished last of nine in the Grade 1 American Pharoah Stakes for 2-year-olds on Friday.
Collusion Illusion, who won the Grade 2 Best Pal Stakes at six furlongs at Del Mar on Aug. 10, raced wide on the first turn of the American Pharoah Stakes at 1 1/16 miles and was pulled up by jockey Joe Talamo after tailing off in the final half-mile.
“He’s sound,” Glatt said. “He had a horrible trip into the first turn. As chaotic as it was, he probably got a little stressed and startled and gave up.
“We’ll run some blood work to be sure. I think we’ll take a step back and give him some time off.”
