DRF’s Livingston receives Charles W. Engelhard Award

Daily Racing Form photographer and two-time Eclipse Award winner Barbara D. Livingston has been honored with the Charles W. Engelhard Award by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders (KTOB) and Kentucky Thoroughbred Association (KTA).

The award, voted on by the KTOB/KTA board of directors, is presented annually to a member of the media for outstanding coverage of the Thoroughbred industry. The award was presented on April 17 with other honors at the annual Kentucky-bred champions awards luncheon in Lexington, Ky.

Livingston was awarded the Eclipse Award for outstanding photography in 1992, for a photo which appeared in The Blood-Horse; and in 2001, for a photo appearing in Thoroughbred Chronicle.

In addition to Daily Racing Form and virtually every trade publication, Livingston's photos have appeared in publications such as People, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Reader's Digest, TV Guide, and Vanity Fair.

Livingston is the author of five books featuring her photography: "Four Seasons of Racing" (1998), "Barbara Livingston's Saratoga" (2005), "Old Friends: Visits With My Favorite Thoroughbreds" (2002), "More Old Friends" (2007), and "Standardbred Old Friends" (2014).
