Beyond Awesome short price in Spring Futurity
PHOENIX – Beyond Awesome looms an overwhelming favorite, as the 2-year-old daughter of Boos heads Saturday’s $77,685 Turf Paradise Spring Futurity, which brings down the curtain on the 125-day Turf Paradise meet. The filly tops a field of nine 2-year-olds going 5 furlongs. The Futurity goes as race 5 on an 8-race program.
Owned by Jeremy Ramsland and trained by Justin Evans, the Beyond Awesome dazzled in her debut here April 13, blasting out to a clear early lead and romping home by nine lengths. Her Beyer from that win (39) towers over what her rivals have so far accomplished. Luis Negron was up that day and keeps the call.
Her main threat may be One in Vermillion. The juvenile son of Army Mule stalked the pace and ran on well for second in his only start, a trial for this April 13.
Diamonds Danzing, a daughter of Danzing Candy, stalked and ran third, just a neck behind One in Vermillion. Natural Immunity and Scatalicious, a well-beaten second and third behind Beyond Awesome in their April 13 trial, could pose threats with improvement.
Racing returns to the Phoenix track in the fall, though firm dates have yet to be set.
