This year’s series awarding qualifying points for entry into the Kentucky Derby next year will include 36 races, starting with Saturday’s Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs, according to a schedule released Monday by track personnel.
The Woodbine Mohawk Park Race Office received the supplemental entry of 3-year-old trotting filly Zette Athena for the upcoming Elegantimage Stakes (G1).

With a redeveloped Belmont Park expected to open in September 2026, Belmont Park's fall meet will be held at Aqueduct for the final time beginning Thursday under the moniker Belmont at the Big A.

After inflated purses at Kentucky Downs, reality returns Thursday, but a reality rosier than the one Churchill Downs presented one year ago, when the track hosted nothing but dirt races during September. That came by necessity. The shaky Churchill grass course required a September break, but this year the course, troubled since its inception in May 2022, transformed. No complaints, no out-of-the-blue cancellations.

Del Mar showed a slight decline in all-sources handle at its 31-day summer meeting that ended on Sunday, according to figures compiled by Daily Racing Form.
