Top Pick Stats: 183/554 (-$199.80) Best Bets: 20/50 (-$22.60); Spot Plays: 9/51 (-$56.50) Best Bet: ODDS ON BULLFROG (Race 4) Spot Play: TOSS OF THE DICE (Race 10) Early Pick-5: 3,7,8/1,5/3,6/8/2,8,10   $7.20 Late Pick-5: 1,4/2,6/1,3/1,5/1   $3.20 Race 1: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: PROSPECT STARTERS NW $10,000 LAST 4 STARTS. The front end experiment with (7) ITS NOT MY VAULT is likely to be gone for good. She came back with an excellent rally to just miss last week. She has the ability to swoop them tonight. (8) KAYLAS INCHARGE was notably bet down to 6/5 the last time James Macdonald was in the bike. Her last two efforts have been decent, and you have to think J-Mac can get more out of her if she minds her manners. (3) NOT PASSABLE gets Jody Jamieson back in the bike who had her in sharp form when last seen at Mohawk. She is a logical contender in her return to the big track. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (1) DIME BETTOR had absolutely no business winning last week, but pulled off a stunning late rally while in the six path to track down the tiring leader. This Menary pupil has high speed and is improving with each trip around. (5) MANDESTINY produced his best effort last week after sitting the pocket at a big number. If he is able to track again from up close, he could be knifing through late and getting second at a good price again. (7) TICKET STATION got a perfect second over tow last week, but I thought he hung a little bit. Bulldog Hanover’s offspring have been taking plenty of action at the windows; He could be overbet. Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) FIGMENT had more pop of the two debuting homebreds in my opinion, but the obvious question right away is intent. I’ll side with him over (3) WAKE ZONE who was a winner in his second morning prep after sitting in the pocket. I find it hard to not use debuting horses against ones who have had many chances. That includes (1) NOVA BLU who is now 0-for-21 coming into tonight. His last effort was sharp, a two-move effort to finish second behind Cold Creek Pantera who went off as the favorite. He still takes too much win money in my opinion. Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (8) ODDS ON BULLFROG avoided traffic trouble last week and held off everyone after being sent to the front. I think he provides a square number on top again. (5) JOSES TRIPLETS should get plenty of attention after his sharp :26 3/5 final quarter, but he hasn’t faced pressure yet. If he has to work first over or gets pressured early, we don’t know if he can handle that yet. (7) LYONS FIRSTBULLDOG is another early speed threat, and now he picks up leading driver James Macdonald. He could wind up the best price of the three. Race 5: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS (W/O $7,500 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $700 P/S IN 2025 AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (8) GIVE ME KARETS K was a solid third from off the pace when returning to Mohawk. He had no chance catching the odds on winner, but should have a better chance here. (10) DOUBLE DIPPIN gets another drop to the bottom level and is likely to be blasted when leaving from the widest post. (2) HESOHOT HANOVER got a nice tightener under his belt last week and now draws an inside post. He can add some value underneath. Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4B. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (1) HOT COUNTRY has won two straight at the Grassroots level and already has a mark of :55 and change. I’ll look for the top connections to keep him rolling. (4) GREAT TRICKSTER has been ultra consistent of late and draws perfectly to sit another good trip. (3) SENDI KA gets away from the rail where he broke in his latest. The aggressive steer worked two back, but hasn’t been seen anywhere else. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (2) CALLSIGN ROOSTER has all the makings of a Grassroots pacer, and is one I expect to be driven like he is the best horse in the race. (6) BARRACUDA HANOVER has been sneaky in his last two efforts, and poses a real threat as a pocket rocket. (4) MAJOR MONEY has been doing decent work from just off the pace with J-Mac in the bike and could capitalize if the leaders battle. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (3) BARBARRO comes off a sharp qualifying win after a few weeks off. He has sat up close in the past, and could pull the upset if he finishes the job. (1) EVANS LEGACY slipped up the rail in his latest on Friday evening to get the job done. He may work from just off the pace when leaving from the rail and should be contending when they turn for home. (7) D A LETS DANCE has found a decent home in the Grassroots level. He should be floated out at the very least and should contend if he doesn’t face pressure. Race 9: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: PROSPECT STARTERS NW $11,000 LAST 4 STARTS. (5) FUNNY BUSINESS was better in her latest from off the pace, and could sit in a perfect spot to pick off the faltering speed at a price. (1) WICKED CRUIZER got the job done as the favorite last week. She should be forwardly placed and be in a good spot again when turning for home. (3) STELLRMANIPULATION raced better than the odds board thought she would, and now draws a better post. She doesn’t finish as well as others in here. (1) TOSS OF THE DICE was a good second behind Hot Country last week. He likes to get away close and can trip out. (6) RAUCOUS has just one win in his last four starts, all as the favorite, but should be expected to put forth another good effort. His faithful backers might slowly flock elsewhere. (3) BOB FROM HOCKEY has made breaks in all three of his Grassroots tries. He can do well if he puts it all together. Race 11: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (6) PICK A GENRE ended up not going off as the favorite last week and took back to race from off the pace. I would expect him to be forward tonight and rebound. (9) LETS GET PICKLED capitalized when the pace collapsed last week. His tries at this level have been solid. (5) PASSIONATE PRINCE is an off the pace type who can add significant value to exotics if he finds a live helmet.
