The Quarter Horse colt Forget It is forcing people to take notice of his recent performances. On March 15 at Los Alamitos, Forget It set the fastest qualifying time for Saturday’s $175,100 El Primero Del Ano Derby for colts and geldings with a comprehensive victory by 2 1/4 lengths. The win will make Forget It the favorite to win Saturday’s final.

For racing fans, few things mark the start of spring more than the Keeneland meet, a tradition that stretches back almost 80 years. This three-week meet lures many of the best horses in North America and most of the top trainers competing for lucrative purses, led by 15 graded stakes races. Prior to the fall meet last year, Keeneland replaced its Polytrack main surface with a new dirt track, meaning that that meet marked the first races on dirt at Keeneland since the spring 2006 meet.

There appears to be little separating the top contenders in the Grade 3, $400,000 Fantasy on Saturday at Oaklawn Park, but one angle Sarah Sis has working is that she’s proven at two turns unlike her Grade 1-placed rivals Feathered and Achiever’s Legacy, and the promising Oceanwave.
