Noble Bird, a rapidly improving 4-year-old colt, turned back Lea in the desperate final yards Saturday night to win the 34th running of the Grade 1, $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap at Churchill Downs.
Wiggle It Jiggleit made the North America Cup trials on Saturday his 11th career victory in as many starts and in doing so likely placed himself as the probable favorite for the June 20 C$1 million final at Mohawk. The altered son of Mr Wiggles was one of three elimination winners and 10 finalists for the marquee 3-year-old race.

Frivolous must like being an underdog at Churchill Down. Some 6 1/2 months after winning the Grade 3 Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs at 19-1 odds on Nov. 27, she upset Saturday night’s Grade 2, $200,000 Fleur De Lis Handicap at 32-1.
American Pharoah was publicly celebrated for the first time since he became the first horse to complete the Triple Crown in 37 years when Churchill Downs held a parade and tribute in his honor Saturday night between races.
