WAR OF WILL has a grass pedigree (he’s out of a Sadler’s Wells mare), so it’s understandable that he began his career on that surface, but he has improved noticeably since moving to the dirt.

The main event at Santa Anita on Saturday is the Palos Verdes at six furlongs, and it features the two-time Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner and soon-to-be two-time Eclipse Award champion male sprinter, ROY H (7). Roy H has been the best dirt sprinter over the past two seasons, and based on his devastating victory in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup, there’s really no reason to believe this 7-year-old gelding will be slowing down anytime soon.
