2022 Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for April 6, 2022
WHO’S HOT
There are two newcomers to the Derby Watch top 20, and a new second choice on the line of Daily Racing Form’s Marty McGee for the May 7 Kentucky Derby. Tiz the Bomb and Tawny Port, the one-two finishers in the Jeff Ruby last Saturday, have been added to the list after earning 100 and 40 points, respectively, toward a Derby berth. White Abarrio, winner of the Florida Derby the same day, is the new second choice on McGee’s line at 6-1, down from 20-1 a week ago. Epicenter remains the favorite, though his price ticked up a half-point, from 7-2 to 4-1. Cyberknife, the Arkansas Derby winner last Saturday, is now 10-1 after being 30-1 last week. Charge It, second in the Florida Derby, is down to 12-1 from 30-1, and Barber Road, the Arkansas Derby runner-up, tumbled from 50-1 to 20-1.

WHO’S NOT
Owing to, respectively, poor performance or getting muscled out by horses the Derby Watch executive committee prefers, Classic Causeway and In Due Time were removed from the list.
ON THE BUBBLE
Just a few more shopping days left! The Santa Anita Derby, Blue Grass Stakes, and Wood Memorial are all Saturday, and are the last of the 170-point races in the series; next week’s Lexington Stakes is worth 34 points overall, 20 to the winner. Ethereal Road and Grantham are among those in the Blue Grass seeking a one-two finish to secure a spot in the Derby starting gate, but that race is salty, with highly regarded Smile Happy and Zandon topping the field.
