No Parole's most recent win came in the Premier Prince Stakes on Feb. 8.

Unbeaten 3-year-old No Parole will make his first start outside Louisiana-bred competition in the $1 million Rebel Stakes on March 14 at Oaklawn Park.

Part-owner Maggi Moss announced the race choice on Twitter after No Parole worked a half-mile in 49.40 on Monday at Fair Grounds. Tom Amoss trains No Parole and has the crack 4-year-old filly Serengeti Empress pointed to the $350,000 Azeri Stakes on the same Oaklawn program.

Mr Freeze thriving in advance of Gulfstream Park Mile

Barbara D. Livingston
Mr Freeze will shorten up to a mile at Gulfstream on Saturday.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Dale Romans is hoping Mr Freeze runs well enough Saturday in a rugged renewal of the Grade 2, $300,000 Gulfstream Park Mile to merit sending the 5-year-old horse to Dubai for the March 28 Godolphin Mile.

Romans, however, would prefer not to make the overseas trip himself.

“I’m planning on standing right about here,” Romans said from his familiar perch in the Gulfstream Park grandstand as training wound down Sunday.

Paolucci to run longshot The Falcon in Fountain of Youth, Nikki and Papa in Davona Dale

Barbara D. Livingston
Nikki and Papa will represent Ron Paolucci in the Grade 2 Davona Dale on Saturday.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Ron Paolucci resisted the urge to run the maiden filly Nikki and Papa in the Fountain of Youth on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, but perhaps only in deference to his ownership partners.

“I had somebody just buy in for 20 percent of the filly,” Paolucci said Monday from Texas, “and now I own 50 percent of her. I’d love to have run her against the boys if this was like her third start, but she’s only run the one time. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do it when the circumstances are a little more in our favor.”

Roy H galloping toward comeback attempt

Roy H has not raced since winning the Grade 2 Palos Verdes in January 2019.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Roy H, the champion sprinter of 2017 and 2018, has advanced to galloping on a daily basis at the San Luis Rey Training Center in an attempt at a comeback, trainer Peter Miller said on Sunday.

Roy H has not raced since a win in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes at Santa Anita in January 2019. An 8-year-old gelding, Roy H was sent to Dubai for the Group 1 Golden Shaheen last March, but developed a foot abscess and was forced to miss the race.

“He’s galloped a few days and looking strong,” Miller said. “The foot is as good as it’s been in a year.”
