Racing Sundown wins the $40,000 San Felipe at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday night.

Racing Sundown was forwardly placed throughout for a two and three quarter length win over Questionable Past in the $40,000 at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday night. The race was marred by the breakdown of favorite Cat's Cat, who sustained a fracture to her left front leg, near the ankle, and was euthanized, according to her rider, Ted Gondron.

Hay Madison finished third, a head behind Questionable Past.

Legs O' Neal found a race without nemesis Happy Ticket, and led throughout for a three-quarter length win in the $50,000 for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares at Delta Downs on Saturday night. Midnight Delight finished second, six and three-quarter lengths in front of third-place finisher Misty Glo.

Where Is My Daddy, the expected pacesetter, was scratched from the Camelia.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Congrats and Fencelineneighbor won the biggest races of their careers at Santa Anita on Saturday, prepping for lucrative stakes in coming weeks.

Congrats, 5, won the $150,000 over 1 1-16 miles, a race that trainer Richard Mandella considered a prep to the $1 million Santa Anita Handicap on March 5.

Fencelineneighbor won the $150,000 San Gorgonio Handicap for fillies and mares, which was transferred from turf to dirt because of rain. She will be pointed for the $500,000 Sunshine Millions Distaff here on Jan. 29.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Badge of Silver came into the $100,000 as the second-best handicap horse in owner Ken and Sarah Ramsey's potent stable behind Roses in May. But Badge of Silver served notice that he may also be ready to join the upper echelon of the handicap ranks with his victory in Saturday's Grade 3 Hal's Hope.

The 1 1/8-mile Hal's Hope was the highlight of a nine-race program at Gulfstream Park that also included the Aventura Stakes and Mr. Prospector Handicap.

Slews Final Answer rallies in Minaret

Slews Final Answer wins the 24th running of the $60,000 Minaret Stakes Race at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday.

Rallying down the middle of the track, Slews Final Answer blew past pacesetter Beautiful Honor inside the final furlong and went on to post a 3 1/2-length victory Saturday in the $60,000 at Tampa Bay Downs.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - High Fly stamped himself the first Kentucky Derby candidate of the meeting after cruising to a convincing nine-length victory over 11 rivals in Saturday's $125,000 at Gulfstream Park.

High Fly ($8.20) entered the Aventura undefeated and untested in two previous starts and remained that way after turning in a devastating performance in the first race ever run out of Gulfstream's new one-mile chute.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Fencelineneighbor and jockey Luis Jauregui reached milestones in Saturday's $150,000 at Santa Anita - they both won their first graded stakes.

Fencelineneighbor ($4.80) led throughout 1 1/8 miles on a sloppy track, holding off a stubborn Uraib to win by two lengths.

For Jauregui, 35, the win marked the biggest success of his 17-year career. The race was downgraded from a Grade 2 to a Grade 3 after it was transferred from turf to dirt, but that didn't bother Jauregui.

"It was big for me," he said. "I'll take it."
