The Japanese filly Cesario is all alone coming down the stretch at Hollywood Park on Sunday, posting a four-length win in the Grade 1, $750,000 American Oaks.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - The racing world seemed a lot smaller at Hollywood Park on Sunday.

Cesario, an invader from Japan, ran what her jockey described as the best race of her career to win the $750,000 , the richest race in the nation for 3-year-old fillies on turf.

In the Grade 1 Oaks, which featured a strong cast from three continents, Cesario was clearly best. She won by four lengths over Melhor Ainda, the 6-5 favorite who lost for the first time in her five-race career. Singhalese, 43-1, finished third in the field of 12.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Saratoga invader Silver Tree was the 4-5 favorite in the $331,800 on Sunday, but it was Woodbine-based Silver Ticket who proved an easy winner of the nine-furlong turf event.

Silver Ticket had a four-wide stalking trip under Todd Kabel, and loomed into serious contention exiting the turn. He hit the front nearing the three-sixteenths pole, and then drew off to win by two and three-quarter lengths, in a final time of 1:47.54 seconds.

Revved Up gets first graded stakes at age 7

Revved Up cruises to a two-length victory in the $197,750 Stars and Stripes Breeders' Cup Turf at Arlington Park before a holiday weekend crowd of 12,868 on Sunday.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - The gray 7-year-old gelding Revved Up first ran in a graded stakes race during the fall of 2000, but it took until Sunday at Arlington Park for him to win one.

After a single-start 2004 campaign, it would've been fair to believe Revved Up had nowhere to go but down, if he was going anywhere at all. But 2005 has been a renaissance year for Revved Up, who won Sunday for the third time in four starts, beating Cloudy's Knight by two lengths in the Grade 3, $200,000 .

Hystericalady wins Juan Gonzalez

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Hystericalady ($3) made up two lengths in the final 100 yards, getting her nose in front of longshot Bid of Genius at the wire to win the $49,500 Juan Gonzalez Memorial Stakes at the Alameda County Fair on Saturday.

The filly, now unbeaten in two starts, was troubled by a loose number on her bridle that kept hitting her in the eye, causing her to duck in to the rail. She was boxed in on the turn and didn't get clear until inside the 16th pole.

Indian Breeze upsets Landaluc

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Indian Breeze upset River's Prayer in Saturday's $104,800 Landaluce Stakes at Hollywood Park to remain unbeaten after two starts.

Just getting Indian Breeze to the race seemed like a victory to trainer Adam Kitchingman. In early June, after winning a maiden race, Indian Breeze missed 12 days of training after suffering a puncture wound to her stomach caused by an accident in her stall. The injury required stitches, Kitchingman said.

OCEANPORT, N.J. - Better Talk Now rallied up the rail with an explosive move to win the $750,000 Saturday at Monmouth Park.

The winner of last year's Breeders' Cup Turf, Better Talk Now posted his second win in three starts this season and got his third Grade 1 victory.

Trainer Graham Motion, concerned that Better Talk Now was compromised by a lack of pace last time out in the Dixie Stakes at Pimlico, also entered Shake the Bank as a rabbit.

The strategy worked to perfection.

Palladio doesn't let slow pace stop him

JJ Zamaiko
Palladio wins the Grade 2, $350,000 Ohio Derby at Thistledown on Saturday.

NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - Palladio, a true closer, was never farther than 2 1/2 lengths off the pace in the Grade 2, $350,000 because of the unusually slow early fractions of the 1 1/8-mile race. When asked by jockey Richard Dos Ramos, he drove to a one-length win over Magna Graduate, the 8-5 favorite.

It's Time to Smile was close up all the way and finished third, 1 1/2 lengths farther back.

Adam Coglianese/NYRA
Offlee Wild, ridden by Egdar Prado, wins the Grade 1 Suburban Handicap in his first start since being beaten 23 lengths in the Pimlico Special.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Offlee Wild proved his flop in the slop in the Pimlico Special was a fluke, and now the top two handicap horses on the East Coast reside in one barn.

Offlee Wild, ridden by Edgar Prado, rallied to a 1 1/4-length victory in Saturday's Grade 1, $500,000 at Belmont Park, bouncing back from a sixth-place finish as the favorite in the Grade 1 Pimlico Special.
