Shirocco outsprinted Hurricane Run and Pride to the wire in the Prix Foy as Christophe Soumillon rode the winners of all three course and distance preps for the Oct. 1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.
Sixties Icon led a parade of Galileos across the line at York on Saturday as he swept to a most convincing victory in the Group 1, $885,000 St. Leger Stakes.
The world's oldest classic, the St. Leger proved to be a tribute to Galileo, winner of both the Epsom and Irish Derbies in 2001, as not only is Sixties Icon a son of Galileo, but so are the runner-up, The Last Drop, and third-place Red Rocks.
Hurricane Run, Shirocco, and Pride will stage their own little mini-Arc at Longchamp on Sunday as they prepare for the real thing in the Group 2, $165,000 Prix Foy, one of three course and distance Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe preps being served up at the Parisian track.

The 231st running of the St. Leger Stakes, the world's oldest classic, will be held for the first time at York on Saturday as its longtime home, Doncaster, is undergoing renovation. The race will be run at a flat 1 3/4 miles, 132 yards short of usual.
