Two seven-figure group stakes highlight the 11-race program in honor of the Chinese New Year at Sha Tin Racecourse on Monday, races that could produce runners for the Dubai World Cup program on the other side of Asia in March.

The $1,289,124 Stewards’ Cup, a Group 1 at a mile on turf, is the richest race on Monday’s program, worth slightly more than the $1,031,299 Centenary Sprint Cup, a Group 2 at six furlongs on turf. The races have brought together many of the top turf milers and sprinters in Hong Kong.

The Group 2, $250,000 Al Fahidi Fort, which marks the Dubai debut of the highly regarded South African colt Noah From Goa, headlines the Thursday card at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai.

The Al Fahidi Fort, contested over 1,400 meters (about seven furlongs) on turf, is the fifth of seven races on a card that also includes the UAE 1000 Guineas Trial for 3-year-old fillies.
