Devil May Care gets final work for Alabama

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Devil May Care, the East Coast’s leading 3-year-old filly, finished her preparations for her showdown with the West Coast’s Blind Luck in next Saturday’s Grade 1 Alabama by working four furlongs in 48.34 seconds Sunday morning over Saratoga’s main track.

Working in company with the Grade 3-winning colt Colizeo, Devil May Care, went in fractions of 12.80 seconds, a half-mile in 24.65, and came home in 23.69.

Life At Ten works for Personal Ensign

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Life At Ten, who looms Rachel Alexandra’s toughest hurdle in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign on Aug. 29, worked four furlongs in a modest 51.47 seconds Tuesday morning over a muddy Saratoga main track.

Under exercise rider Patti Barry, Life At Ten went her first quarter in 26.18 seconds and her second quarter in 25.29. She galloped out five furlongs in 1:05.52. The track was harrowed after the break after having been sealed along the inside paths before the break.

Life at Ten cruises to victory in Delaware Handicap

STANTON, Del. - Nobody went with Life At Ten early, so nobody was going to catch her late.

Unchallenged through soft early fractions under John Velazquez, Life At Ten cruised to a three-length victory Saturday, giving trainer Todd Pletcher his record-tying fourth victory in the Grade 2, $750,000 Delaware Handicap.

In winning her sixth consecutive race and third graded stakes, Life At Ten earned an automatic berth in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic this fall at Churchill Downs.
