Here’s my handicapping analysis and wagering strategy for the late $100,000-guaranteed pick four on Sunday at Remington Park, a sequence that includes all stakes, including the meet’s highlight, the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby.

Race 9, Ricks Memorial

Although this race drew a field of 12, it doesn’t appear particularly contentious. Gianna’s Dream (1) stands out on form and recent speed figures and is favorably drawn on the inside in this 1 1/16-mile turf race. Plus, she is a two-time winner on turf at Remington.

David Jacobson’s runners have been running well in the first three weeks of the Belmont fall meet.
Has been in great form since returning from the short layoff this summer.

Saturday’s card at Belmont Park features two graded stakes races, the Grade 3 Nobel Damsel and the Grade 2 Kelso. The Nobel Damsel is carded as the third race on a 10-race program, and I’ll look to close out the early pick three with a single in there.

RACE 1

A sharp Southern California raider may prove to be your linchpin in the first leg of Sunday’s pick four (races 6-9) at Oak Tree at Pleasanton. If she can do the expected (likely at a short price, unfortunately), spreading in the second leg, a very tough distaff sprint, may help you snag a price.

“Horses don’t lie,” was the comment made by a connection of our Pick last week who decided after training well up to the race to decide she simply didn’t want to race. Too bad we can’t interview them before the race. In any case, it wasn’t a total loss as 11 2-year-old BreezeFigs maidens came home on top last week, at: Belmont, Churchill (two), Delaware (two), Gulfstream (five, including two BreezeFigs exactas), and Los Alamitos (BreezeFigs exacta).

She is bred for turf, having been sired by 15% turf sire Kantharos.

She is a half-sister to turf stakes-placed runner Mom’s On Strike.

Handled a sloppy, sealed track, which is sometimes indicative of turf ability.
