Race 4:
Sir Ballantine (#4)
The Pace Projector is predicting he will get a fast pace to close into.
Has kept good company in his dirt races out of town.
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Danny Gargan is 7 for 21 (33 percent, $3.70 ROI) with horses making their first starts after a trainer switch and coming off layoffs of 90 days or more on the dirt.
9-2 on ML

A pace meltdown among the three early leaders set the stage for a 39-1 upset from stalker Magicalmeister in the $75,000 John Battaglia Memorial at Turfway Park on Friday evening.
Patiently handled by John McKee, the winner settled in fourth for nearly six furlongs of the 1 1/16-mile race, as Giant Honor and Truth Be Tolled set a demanding pace with a half-mile in 47.44 seconds and three-quarters in 1:11.93. Then, as they grew fatigued, Magicalmeister made his move, surging to a clear lead in midstretch before lasting by a half-length over hard-charging runner-up Sky Promise.
Race 2:
Arewehavingfunyet (#5)
Should be fitter in her second start off the layoff.
Can take advantage of a lack of pace in this race.
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past five years, Gregory DiPrima is 9 for 40 (23 percent, $4.63 ROI) second off the claim.
5-2 on ML

Race 6:
The Rainbow 6 on the marathon 13-race card is challenging but playable if you key 3-1 shot GOT STORMY (2) in the opening leg, the eighth race. She’s getting a noteworthy trainer switch to a red-hot Mark Casse following a sale to owner Gary Barber and should improve on a recent fourth in a similar maiden special weight route on the grass.
The late pick four at Santa Anita on Saturday is highlighted by the $70,000 Wishing Well Stakes for fillies and mares going down the hill, a race that is likely to feature a heavy favorite. I’m interested in putting together some pick-four tickets using a pseudo-DRF TicketMaker style; rather than the typical As-Bs-Cs, I’m planning on just using main plays and backup plays. Here’s how I’m planning on attacking the sequence.
