BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, for Saturday, April 6, 2019 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

After our Gulfstream Pick tanked we were watching the one we really liked at Santa Anita do nothing and almost missed the fact that our other key, Miss My Rose, was rolling along to a $45 payoff. Nice consolation in a week where there wasn’t a lot of action. There were six other BreezeFigs maidens that won during the week, at Gulfstream (three), Oaklawn, Tampa Bay and Turf Paradise. Today’s card is fairly weak all around but we found a stand-alone that might work out, see below. Good luck!

Hammersly: Keeneland pick five play for Saturday, April 6, 2019

A few grizzled veterans, a couple dangerous Southern California raiders and an unbeaten Chad Brown filly could prove key in Saturday’s all-stakes Pick-5 at Keeneland (races 6-10).

TimeformUS Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Friday, April 5, 2019

Race 1: Spectator Sport (#4)

Trainer Rob Atras has enjoyed a productive winter at Aqueduct during which he has routinely improved the horses in his care.

Horses have run back out of that Feb. 17 maiden event to significantly improve their TimeformUS Speed Figures in subsequent starts.

The Pace Projector is predicting a situation favoring runners on or near the lead and he should be forwardly placed.

Weekend Warrior: Picks for Wood Memorial, Commonwealth Stakes, Ashland Stakes for April 6, 2019

Tom Keyser
Tacitus ran so well winning the Tampa Bay Derby that 5-2 in the Wood Memorial seems like a more than fair price.

NEW YORK – The end of the Kentucky Derby prep season is in sight and on Saturday we move a major step closer to the conclusion with three critical final preludes – the Grade 1, $1 million Santa Anita Derby, the Grade 2, $1 million Blue Grass at Keeneland, and the Grade 2, $750,000 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct.

BELETH
Trainer: Ron Ellis
Last race: March 29, 5th
Finish: 2nd by 1 3/4

This debuting colt lagged off a fast pace, finished well, and galloped out super. By Medaglia d’Oro, produced by a stakes winner, should run long. Might need one more sprint prep.

QUEEN OF THE TRACK
