Race 5: Sentry (#5)
Saturday's early pick-four sequence at Belmont begins in race 2 and does not feature any stars. There is an allowance/optional claimer for New York-bred filly-and-mare sprinters, a two-life claimer for older female turf sprinters, and a pair of starter-allowance races for older horses, one on dirt and the other on turf.

Race 2: Archumybaby (#5)
Was compromised by an uncomfortable trip three back when continually shuffled back on the turn.
Raced very wide against a gold rail in his first start off the claim for Linda Rice last time.
Gets a positive rider switch to Irad Ortiz.

Father’s Day could be lucrative for those who play the 20-cent Jackpot Rainbow Pick Six at Santa Anita Park on Sunday. Officials project a pool totaling more than $5 million, and there is a mandatory payout. There will be no carryover of any portion of the pool. The back half of the six-race sequence seems rather straightforward, so it may behoove players to take a shot with some larger prices early on. Here’s a look at Sunday’s Rainbow Six, beginning with race 4.

Our final thought in last week’s column was “check the weather forecast,” which was a prophesy that worked one way and not the other for our Pix at Churchill Downs. Zyramid, hot favorite in the baby race, didn’t appear to like the mud, and when our turf-meant choice Confessing eschewed the mud to finish fifth in the off-the-turfer, our “weather forecast” filly, Gold Standard, drew in from the AE’s and came home nicely as the favorite.
Race 2: Elektronic (#4)
Is improving with every start and seems likely to take another step forward here.
Won much easier than the one-length margin would indicate last time.
Jose Lezcano lands here despite riding all three of the top choices on the morning line in their prior starts.
