Matt Miller wins Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge

Susie Raisher
A $33,000 win bet on Knicks Go in the Breeders' Cup Classic provided Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge champion Matt Miller with his winning margin.

Matt Miller, a Chicago, Ill., attorney for a health-care consulting firm, took home $543,300 in winning the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge, the largest live-money tournament in the United States.

Miller, 50, amassed 142,800 points to win the tournament, which had a record 534 entries, according to Breeders’ Cup. First prize was $400,500, and players retain the money that is won over the two-day event. Miller’s bets included a $33,000 win wager on Knicks Go, the winner of the Classic at 3.20-1.

BreezeFigs Quick-Pix Saturday, November 13, 2021 by Bob Fierro & Jay Kilgore

Let us not dwell upon our utter disappointment in last week’s Pix but rather point out that three of BreezeFigs’s most stellar graduates—Knicks Go, Medina Spirit and Corniche—lived up to their standards in the Breeders’ Cup. Classic winner Knicks Go had a Group 1 profile at OBSAPR18 with a 25.05 foot stride length (SL), while runner-up Medina Spirit came out of OBSJUN20 with a Group 1 profile and 25.42 foot SL). Juvenile victor Corniche came out of this year’s OBSAPR sale with a Group 2 ticket and 26.57 foot SL.
