Rapid Redux chosen for 'Vox Populi' award

Rapid Redux, the mid-Atlantic-based horse who won his 22nd consecutive race on Wednesday, has been selected for the Secretariat “Vox Populi” Award, according to the administrators of the award.

Rapid Redux was selected by 39 percent of the voters making a selection for the award on a website established for the purpose, according to a release distributed by the administrators, who include Penny Chenery, the owner of the late Triple Crown winner Secretariat. The award was determined by a combination of public vote, a committee, and Chenery, the administrators said.
