He’s relentlessly positive, and even Wednesday morning, reflecting on the death of his only child, Jeff, three weeks ago, Lukas chose to look at the good, not dwell on the bad.

Foot injury continues to limit Runhappy's training

Runhappy wins the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes in December to cap his Eclipse Award-winning 2015 campaign.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Reigning sprint champion Runhappy continues to be hampered by a foot bruise and will not resume galloping until the end of April at the earliest.

Runhappy has been jogging on a daily basis at the Thoroughbred Center on the north side of Lexington, according to trainer Laura Wohlers. The 4-year-old colt continues to train with a protective bar shoe on his right hind hoof.

NEW YORK -- Ogden Mills “Dinny” Phipps was remembered “as a larger-than-life figure” who “won the Triple Crown of life” during a memorial service held Wednesday at the St. James Episcopal Church in Manhattan.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was one of three speakers who talked about Phipps during a 75-minute ceremony before a near capacity gathering in a church that can accommodate 1,200 people.

Preciado banned from Parx Racing

Ramon Preciado is on the verge of winning his second straight Parx training title.

BENSALEM, Pa. – Embattled trainer Ramon Preciado, who is facing 270 days in suspensions for two clenbuterol positives at Parx Racing, has been notified that he will no longer be allowed to race at the Bensalem, Pa., track.

But Preciado is not going quietly. On Sunday and Monday at Parx, Preciado won all seven races in which he had a starter. The leading trainer at Parx in both 2014 and 2015, he is on top of the standings at the current meet with a 22-for-49 record.

Catch a Glimpse named 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Catch a Glimpse was named the 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year at the 41st annual Sovereign Awards ceremony on Friday night at Woodbine.

Catch a Glimpse was voted Horse of the Year over Academic, Interpol, and Shaman Ghost. The four finalists were revealed right before the award was announced.
