Zulu Alpha could make return in United Nations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Zulu Alpha, an Eclipse Award finalist among turf males last year, continues on a steady work pattern ahead of his 8-year-old debut. Unraced since September, the $2.26 million-earner could return in the Grade 1 United Nations on the July 17 Haskell undercard at Monmouth, according to owner Michael Hui.
Zulu Alpha has breezed every Saturday since May 1 at the nearby Trackside training center for Mike Maker and is expected to do so again this Saturday. The $500,000 United Nations would serve as a stepping-stone to the $1 million Calumet Turf Cup, to be run Sept. 11 at Kentucky Downs.
Meanwhile, officials at Kentucky Downs, the turf-only track in south-central Kentucky, announced this week that reserved seating for its six-day meet (Sept. 5-12) is now on sale, including in its new VIP Chalet and the Finish Line Pavilion. General admission is free.
