Zivo, Stephanie's Kitten get in Breeders' Cup works

ELMONT, N.Y. – With inclement weather forecast for Friday evening into Saturday morning, trainer Chad Brown moved up by a day workouts for a couple of his Breeders’ Cup contenders.
Zivo, the runner-up to Tonalist in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup here Sept. 27, worked four furlongs in 49.01 seconds in preparation for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Nov. 1.
Working outside of stablemate Endless Chatter, Zivo went his first quarter in 24.68 seconds and his second quarter in 24.33. Zivo galloped out five furlongs in 1:01.87 and six furlongs in 1:15.18.
“He breezed well,” said Cherie DeVaux, Brown’s assistant who oversaw the works. “He looks great, attitude’s good.”
Endless Chatter, third in the Beldame, is likely to make her next start in the Grade 3, $200,000 Turnback the Alarm Stakes here Oct. 26.
Stephanie’s Kitten, the Grade 1 Flower Bowl winner, worked on the turf course, breezing four furlongs in 47.87 seconds in company with Watsdachances. Stephanie’s Kitten is being pointed to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
“She came out of her race in good shape and breezed well, too,” DeVaux said.
Watsdachances is likely to make her next start in the Grade 1, $500,000 E.P. Taylor on Oct. 19.
Zivo, Stephanie’s Kitten, and the remainder of Brown’s Breeders’ Cup contingent will do all of their serious preparation in New York before shipping to Southern California on Oct. 27.
