Zealous Vision, Dancing Diva clash again in Te Ata

Zealous Vision and Dancing Diva will continue their rivalry Friday night at Remington Park, where the 3-year-old fillies meet in the $50,000 Te Ata. The race is one of two Oklahoma-bred stakes on the program. The $50,000 Tishomingo for 3-year-olds is led by Okey Dokey Kyle.

The Te Ata and Tishomingo will be run over seven furlongs and figure to produce starters for the $1 million Oklahoma Classics Night program of statebred stakes Oct. 16.

Zealous Vision and Dancing Diva will be meeting for the fifth time in the Te Ata.

KEY CONTENDERS

Zealous Vision (Last 3 Beyers: 71-58-61)

◗ Zealous Vision is a two-time stakes winner who has won three of her four matchups with Dancing Diva. She enters the Te Ata off a 5 1/4-length allowance win Aug. 28 at Remington. Dancing Diva was second in the 6 1/2-furlong race that served as a prep for the Te Ata.

◗ Zealous Vision won the $85,000 Oklahoma Classics Night Lassie over Dancing Diva last October at Remington, then finished third to her rival in the $55,000 Oklahoma Stallion Stakes on Nov. 28, also at Remington. The pair met again in another division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes on May 2 at Will Rogers Downs, and the winner was Zealous Vision.

◗ Zealous Vision has used off-the-pace tactics in her races and figures to again get a stalking trip Friday night when she breaks from post 8. Bryan McNeil has the mount for trainer Scott Young.

Dancing Diva (Last 3 Beyers: 59-65-37)

◗ She set a quick pace when second in the allowance prep for the Te Ata, dueling through a half-mile in 44.80 seconds and six furlongs in 1:10.40. The start was Dancing Diva’s first in three months, and she could move forward Friday.

◗ Dancing Diva, who can be closer to the pace than Zealous Vision, will break from post 4.

◗ Curtis Kimes has the mount for trainer Boyd Caster.

Tishomingo, Race 4

Okey Dokey Kyle (Last 3 Beyers: 58-68-65)

◗ He’s the most accomplished member of the field as a two-time stakes winner, having swept both divisions of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes.

◗ Okey Dokey Kyle was fourth last out in a Remington allowance sprint won by multiple stakes winner Shotgun Kowboy. Others exiting the race for the Tishomingo are Perfect Majestic, Kenny Do the Math, and He Knows Better.
