Yourdreamsormine eyes first victory
Gulfstream Park West has centered Thursday’s card on 2-year-olds, with three of the program’s 10 races for juveniles. The offerings include a $100,000 maiden-claiming sprint that has drawn starters from trainers Todd Pletcher and Kathleen O’Connell, and a maiden special weight turf race restricted to runners bred in Florida.
Bill Kaplan, who this fall has had stakes success with 2-year-olds Naval Command and My Point Exactly, will move Yourdreamsormine back to the maiden ranks for the sixth race. The horse also will be making his turf debut in the Florida-bred race at 7 1/2 furlongs.
“He’s a closer, a horse that comes from off the pace, and we want to give him a shot to run two turns on the turf,” Kaplan said.
