Youbet.com to stage first of six qualifiers

Youbet.com on Sunday will hold the first of six online qualifying tournaments for the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicap-ping Championship.

Contestants must have a Youbet.com account and wager real money (win and place only) on at least five races at Delaware Park. The handicapper with the biggest return on investment will win a trip to Las Vegas, including airfare and hotel accommodations, and a berth in the seventh handicapping finals, to be held Jan. 27-28 in the Bally's race book.

Youbet's other five contests will be July 30 (on races at Del Mar), Aug. 7 (Monmouth), Aug. 14 (Mountaineer), Oct. 1 (Louisiana Downs), and Oct. 15 (Keeneland).

Last year, Jamie Michelson of West Bloomfield, Mich., qualified at Youbet.com and went on to win the championship, collecting $200,000.
