Like You will either stalk or go to lead in Thursday headliner

Like You and Rebelde look like the main players in a $50,000 claimer that will serve as the feature Thursday at Gulfstream Park. The one-mile race for 3-year-olds drew seven horses and goes as race 8 on a nine-race card that begins at noon Eastern.
Trained by Ronald Spatz, Like You looked good winning a $40,000 claiming race June 7 and followed it up with another solid effort, finishing second in a first-level allowance race with a $25,000 claiming option July 11.
Both races were contested over one mile on the main track, with the July 11 race originally being carded for turf.
The winner of his latest, Crea’s Bklyn Law, freaked while making his first start after being claimed by trainer Peter Walder for $12,500. The 89 Beyer Speed Figure he received for his five-length romp was a career best. The 80 Beyer Like You was given also was a career best.
A Kentucky-bred son of Distorted Humor, Like You came from a stalking position in his win June 7 and also in his runner-up finishes in his latest and in a $35,000 claimer going 6 1/2 furlongs three back on April 16.

He is versatile as evidenced by his front-running romp going a mile in a first-level allowance race with a $25,000 claiming option March 4.
There is not a plethora of speed in the field, so it would not be surprising to see Miguel Vasquez be aggressive with Like You after he breaks from post 4.
The Terri Pompay-trained Rebelde also earned a career-best 80 Beyer for his runner-up finish going a mile in a first-level allowance race with a $75,000 claiming option on July 25.
A Florida-bred son of Khozan, Rebelde also has tactical speed. In his latest win, a four-length romp going a mile in a $25,000 claimer washed off the turf May 28, he came from a stalking position.
Sandwiched between his facile victory and his latest was a third-place finish in a key $40,000 claimer June 17. The winner of the one-mile race, Dynadrive, repeated for the same price in a 1 1/16-mile race on the Saratoga turf course July 31. Lure Him In, who finished fourth, won his next two, the latest coming in a $40,000 claimer on the local turf course.
Rebelde is a stalker. He should get a nice trip breaking from the outside post with Santiago Gonzalez riding.
Avant Garde looks like the main threat to the top pair. He is perfect in two starts since being claimed by trainer Jesus Lander for $10,000 on behalf of Gelfenstein Farm Inc. on June 10.
In his first start for his new connections, Avant Garde got bumped at the start and then rallied to win a $35,000 maiden claimer going a mile by 5 1/2 lengths July 4. He showed it was no fluke when he cut back to seven furlongs and scored by 3 1/2 lengths in a $25,000 claiming race July 23.
