You and I Forever set to start year

You and I Forever, runner-up in the Grade 2 Jerome Handicap in October 2008, will make his long-awaited 2009 debut in Friday's $34,000 feature, carded at seven furlongs under optional claiming conditions.

You and I Forever, a son of A.P. Indy, was transferred to trainer Marty Wolfson's barn this spring after recuperating from surgery to remove a chip from his knee.

"He's trained well and has been ready to run, but I haven't been able to get a race to fill for him," said Wolfson. "Considering this one is a money allowance race, it doesn't seem to have come up that tough. I watched him run last year, and I'm very high on him."

You and I Forever will face a field that includes stakes winners Storm in May and Roman Candles along with Pechito, who wheels back on less than a week's rest after finishing second in Saturday's Primal Stakes.
