Yonkers: Tuesday 9/3 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 02, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 392 - 942 / $1,772.30 (-$111.70)
BEST BETS: 47 - 80 / $141.40 (-$18.60)
Best Bet:
ALEPPO HANOVER (1st)
Spot Play: CAMPORA N (11th)
Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(7) ALEPPO HANOVER finds a very soft NW5000 field and may just be a touch faster than these. (3) MAAJAACKKOBE wasn’t bad last out and fits with this type; this does seem like a legit spot for this barn to snap the seasonal winless skid. (1) DEMOCRACY N doesn’t win nearly often enough to make him a serious candidate but the rail draw makes him a player. (4) MELANIE’S TEDY returns locally off a couple of even efforts at Philly.
Race 2 – Excelsior A – 2YO Trot
(2) CONQUEST AS seems to have things figured out and has taken two straight by open lengths for proven connections; he’s clearly the one to beat, albeit at a very short price. (5) CLEAR SAILING has been much better for Dan Daley with the hobbles added. (4) DENTON was an easy front-end winner in his lone Yonkers appearance. (6) PRAYING RUBY gapped with little to offer against NYSS types but he was timed in 1:58 and he could show improvement here.
Race 3 - Excelsior A – 2YO Trot
(3) BOOK SEVEN was an easy front-end winner last week at Saratoga and Andy Miller will be looking to take these down the road tonight. (1) CRAZY FOR CJ faces better here but he’s been sharp and will certainly offer a better price than the top one. (4) MOONLIGHT MILE has been good finishing and has hit the board in all five of his lifetime starts. (6) LUCKY SEVENS goes second-time hobbles for Daley; consider for a share at a big price.
Race 4 - $20,000 Claiming
(1) SOHO JACKMAN A went on a tear off the DiDomenico claim then leveled off a bit at Philly facing better; veteran is clearly back in the winning spot tonight. (4) AMERICAN VENTURE picks up the catch-driving Dave Miller, has some speed and could work out a live trip. (2) LYONS WILLIAM finished well last week off the Riedel claim from third over and he gets post relief tonight. (3) MARCED MAGIC has Jordan Stratton driving for his brother; always an angle worth considering.
Race 5 – NYSS – 2YO Trot
(2) BOURBON EXPRESS broke last week at Saratoga losing all realistic chance but if he minds his manners here he’s an obvious threat to take these coast-to-coast. (1) CHAPTIAMA jogged last out for Smedshammer and he could have more to offer. (5) SAYLOR tries the catch-driving Marohn tonight for the Ackerman barn. (4) TAKE THE CREDIT hails from Svanstedt and picks up Dexter Dunn.
Race 6 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) MANHATTAN PLAY ships in for connections that have done well locally and she picks up Bartlett while drawing well; worth a look. (4) MY RONA GOLD N bumps up in class off the Allard claim and while she clearly has something to prove facing better that angle is definitely worth a look. (8) ROSE RUN TONI is razor-sharp for Lance Hudson but she has to overcome the eight hole. (3) NORTHERN SWIFT has hit the ticket in her last three.
Race 7 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) MONEY MAVEN is always a bit of a risky play, especially from an outside post but the veteran is a perfect fit at this NW10000 level. (2) SIR JOHN F was a solid second here versus similar three back and the Garcia-Herrera trainee may be the one to catch. (6) BLENHEIM also gets needed class relief and seems like a player. (4) BROADWAY PROMISE broke in his last two local tries but perhaps he can be a late threat at a price if he behaves himself.
Race 8 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(7) BETTOR MEMORIES finished willingly last week from a no-chance spot in his local return and while he has to navigate a second-tier start the veteran is more than capable with this type; Dave Miller picks up the catch drive. (3) VAGUE TRACES couldn’t convert on the front end at odds-on last out; DiDomenico trainee can be a bit of a money-burner but he still has to be used. (4) TREMENDOUS PLAY has looked good in his last couple for Bartlett/Banca. (2) ROCKATHON was okay last week upon dropping back to this level and he gets post relief.
Race 9 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) VICTORY AT LAST usually races well with Bongiorno at the lines and while he faces some decent stock in here he should also be a good price. (2) ARTMAGIC drops, draws well and should be right there at the wire. (5) MCARDLES LIGHTNING won at Philly last out with the owner in the bike and now ships in with an impossible to ignore driver/trainer upgrade but he may be wildly overbet. (3) GRAND MASTER picks up checks at this level; use on the very bottom of your tickets.
Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) LK’S NANCY LEE went a big effort in defeat last week and she figures to have a tactical advantage on the class-dropping (5) KAY’S DELIGHT. The latter has raced well with better coming back from vacation and she looms large here. (2) LYONS JENNIELEE gets much-needed post relief and was a winner four back from a similar spot. (1) AMATEUR HOUR never wins but at least she’s flashed good speed in her last two and maybe she can last for a small share.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(5) CAMPORA N finds a better spot for Vallee making his second U.S. start; watch the board here for clues. (8) THOR DE VIE has always been a bit erratic but he’s impossible to ignore at this level, even from the worst post. (4) OWN IT is another erratic type but he can race well here at a big price if in the mood. (2) ART HISTORY has tailed off recently which makes him a questionable play.
Race 12 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(2) BABES DIG ME kept up well last out chasing two very classy veterans and the Banca trainee seems to have found the perfect spot to convert. (1) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE is at his best one level down but he’s coming off a decent effort and he draws best again. (6) QUALITY BUD moves to the Andrew Harris barn and he seems talented enough to compete with these; post doesn’t do him any favors, however. (3) BETTING EXCHANGE should be close enough to the pace to land a piece.
