Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(1) BROOKIES PRINCE N just keeps winning races and even has post relief tonight, moving to the pole. Gets another new trainer in Fusco off the claim, but I don't see that being an issue. (2) BJ'S GUY is in position to follow Brookies Prince N if things line up like they should, but he'd need a better kick to go with him. (5) FINAL JUSTICE comes back to Yonkers tonight after two good races down at Harrah's Philadelphia. Probably looking for a cover trip.
Race 2 - NW10000L5/20000CLM/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Trot
(5) ANOTHER BREATH returns to Yonkers after recovering from an early break down at Harrah's Philadelphia. Sears got along with him well in two tries prior to that one, and he should have a bit of value. (2) BLENHEIM has a trainer change of note, going to Lance Hudson. Was well-backed at the windows last Tuesday but broke stride, which he'll obviously have to avoid tonight. (3) MADMAN HALL raced at Pocono in his last few but ships back in to Westchester tonight. Draws well and should show speed for Holland.
Race 3 - F&M NW5400L5/12500CLM Pace
(5) MY RONA GOLD N took one shot against better and now drops back to the level of the claim here for Allard. Looks like she should be able to make the lead given the lack of speed to the inside, and I'll go with her. (2) SWEET YOU gets some class relief tonight and was Stratton's choice of two in the race. (7) ALWAYS CURIOUS retained the services of Brent Holland. No match for the romping-off winner last time, but she has shown a versatile racing style.
Race 4 - 20000CLM Pace
(5) SOHO JACKMAN A romped last Tuesday coming back to Yonkers from Pocono. Got claimed by Allard and sticks at the $20,000 claiming level, and also keeps Brennan in the bike. (4) I FOUND MY BEACH went on the shelf from April to late August. Qualified well and finished evenly at Harrah's Philly. That was probably a needed race, and he could improve tonight in his second start back. (1) MATT MAJOR has a post change tonight, going back to the rail, but he was just okay two back from the pole in his first start for Banca, and I'll put him underneath.
Race 5 - NW5000L5 Pace
(5) ASTON HILL DAVE threw down a nice qualifier on August 30 after some time away. Was racing against better most of the winter and hooks up with a field of question marks tonight. Also ended up with Stratton in the bike, which doesn't hurt his chances. (4) GOTTA GO B B stepped his game up some at Harrah's Philly and gives Yonkers another shot tonight. (3) ARTMAGIC fell just short after leading on the drop in class last Tuesday. Draws an inside post again tonight and will probably try and cut the fractions.
Race 6 - F&M NW10000L5/20000CLM/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(2) BLUSH HANOVER exits a race where classy mares Kaitlyn N and Dont Think Twice A were first and second. Gets some class relief off that mile and has post two again. (4) LK'S NANCY LEE has been in solid form for a bit and picked up a win a week ago. She'll definitely be a threat again tonight. (3) SUDDEN CHANGE N races at this level again after dropping down last Tuesday. Was stuck with post seven on that night, but slides inside to post three this Tuesday.
Race 7 - NW5000L5 Pace - **$10K GTD Pick 5**
(4) CATCHA LEFTY A closed strongly in his first effort off two qualifiers. Comes in from Pocono at the bottom condition level tonight locally, which looks like a good spot for him considering he had two seconds and a third against NW10000L5's in Westchester earlier this season. (3) CHEYENNE REIJANE was saddled with post eight two times in-a-row but gets post relief tonight and adds Bartlett. (5) THEFREEDOMFIGHTERN finished second in a quick mile at this level at Yonkers two back. Comes out of a race at Tioga where he was matched up against the likes of classy Funknwaffles.
Race 8 - NW5000L5 Pace
(1) SETTLEMOIR owns an 0-for-17 record this year, but he did gain ground in the final quarter a week ago from post eight, and this race is wide-open. Maybe he can control it from the pole. (2) REASONABLE FORCE might be the one to beat based on races earlier this year at this level and at the NW10000L5 class. Took some time off, then qualified and raced down at Freehold. Could definitely step up in the second start off the layoff. (4) GRAND MASTER lost all chance last Tuesday when he was parked out. Another win-shy type in a race filled with them, but at least he does have a second in the class recently.
Race 9 - NW10000L5/20000CLM/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Trot
(6) BINGO QUEEN receives a drop in class she's been looking for tonight. Did well against the NW10000L5's back in July, including scoring her lone win of the year on 7-9. (2) APLOMB HANOVER was bet down on August 27 at this level but made a break. Sort of have to play the guessing game on whether he'll trot or not right now, but he's definitely got the class to beat these if he does. (5) ONE OF THE FEW tossed in a clunker at the added distance last time out, but you always have to respect the DiDomenico barn, and he switches back to the flat mile for this chance.
Race 10 - F&M NW10000L5/20000CLM/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(6) TIPP CITY lands in a good spot here after battling much better recently. Didn't draw the best post, but she's shown enough speed recently to overcome it, and I'll look for an up-close or leading trip to the winner's circle. (3) MCVENUS is another one who has been in deep water recently with little to show for it. Cruised to an easy victory in her last appearance against NW10000L5's back in July. (5) MAJORETTE ANGIE backed up her win against NW5000L5's two back with a good closing effort at this level last Tuesday. Should have every chance to work out a trip following cover again.
Race 11 - NW10000L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(5) ROOTIN TOOTIN has been searching for a winning level recently without finding one. Raced against better in his one appearance at Yonkers on 8-20, and had post eight that night, so this is a much softer spot, and he has a better post to work with. (4) PARTY BOY got rolling in the final quarter on August 30 but couldn't get there. Has Siegelman in the bike again tonight. (7) SLICK MICK rallied well in his Yonkers debut last time out, but does have a negative post change tonight, going from the pole to post seven. Adds Sears in the sulky.
Race 12 - NW10000L5/Winners of NW5000L5 in Last Start Pace
(4) MODERN REFLECTION toured the track on August 30 after a sick scratch, and he had post seven that night to boot. Shifts inside to the four-hole tonight and Joe Bongiorno drives. Hoping for a price. (2) DAKOTA JACK almost beat NW20000L5's two back locally, but then was flat on the return to Pocono on 8-31. Certainly drawn well here if he's as good as he was on 8-20. (5) LETTUCERIPRITA A showed speed from post seven in his last attempt and weakened late. That might have tightened him up for this try, although Sears did opt elsewhere.
