Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(3) WILD WEST has completely turned things around in his last few after a rocky start off the Brittany Robertson claim and he can easily take his second best from this spot. (2) LET’S FOAL AROUND was a clear second to the streaking Brookie’s Prince N and overall he’s been racing well; gelding will likely be on the lead or in the pocket. (6) MISTER TRUTH was going nowhere from two eight holes off the Annunziata claim; he moves in a couple of spots and he does have some early speed. (1) STEVE SAID has zero current form but at least he draws best.
Race 2 – NW10000 in last 5
(3) BIG BOY ROSCO has found the waters a bit deep since graduating from the NW ranks but he drops in for a tag tonight and the DiDomenico trainee may have found the winning spot. (2) APLOMB HANOVER seems to have regressed in his last few starts but this looks like a more legit spot. (1) LADY EAGLE rallied mildly for a small share last week and can land a piece from the best post. (7) MANOFMANYIMAGES is back in class after failing at 1/9; tough to make a case for him on top but he can handle the rest.
Race 3 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming
(2) MACHLICIOUS hiked up in class off the Chris Height claim last week but was stuck in post eight and never got involved; gelding faces a field with plenty of question marks and could be worth a look if he’s close to that 7/1 morning-line. (7) OUR DRAGON KING goes for three straight off the DiDomenico claim and would be lock-city if not for the poor post; can Brennan generate some early speed from the veteran? (3) BLACK CANVAS rallied well last out for a share for 3rd at 100/1; Harris trainee may be overbet off that effort. (5) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE has been around seemingly forever and still seems like a serviceable mid-level claimer.
Race 4 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) MELANIE’S FILLY has been a bit of a disappointment for Allard but she should fit well at this bottom level and should offer a bit more value than the logical (1) SHEER TALENT. The latter has maintained her form for multiple barns and now goes for Banca looking to blast down the road. (5) FAMILY ROLL CALL and (6) MY RONA GOLD N both have poor win profiles but have both raced well recently at this level.
Race 5 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) BIRCH ISLAND BETTY has had legitimate excuses in her last three (eight hole 3X) for DiDomenico and I suspect it will be all-systems-go tonight from the rail. (7) LK’S NANCY LEE needs to fire hard from the outside post and she’ll be a serious threat if not too roughed-up early. (4) SWEET YOU goes back to the catch-driving Stratton and could be a late threat. (2) FRANNEY LOVE DAT bumps up off an upset win and should be close-up throughout.
Race 6 - $20,000 Claiming
(2) AMERICAN VENTURE came up empty late after being used and shuffled; overall he’s been showing renewed life recently and he does get to face a bit softer here. (6) JK HEAVEN SENT was reclaimed by DiDomenico and looked for three straight for that outfit. (5) MARCED MAGIC gets Jordan Stratton back in the bike for his brother and could be a player. (3) WESTERN ROCKSTAR A is just too inconsistent to endorse on top.
Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts - **$10K GTD Pick-5**
(6) PRETTY BOY HILL finds a very soft spot in his return to the races and he did qualify very effectively; gelding has been competitive with better than these in the past. (4) VORACITY has been a major disappointment for these connections but he has to be considered a threat here. (8) DREAM OF LUCK takes a needed drop in class but is stuck outside. (1) NATURAL LEDA never wins but should land a share from the best post.
Race 8 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(1) BRIGHT DIAMOND N crushed cheaper in his two starts since moving to Team Bongiorno and he may be sharp enough to handle these. (3) JENERAL PATTON drops back down to NW20000 and the veteran should be a player here. (5) SPORTS BETTOR was a good second at this level last week. (10) OSTRO HANOVER can go with these but the 4-year-old has a tricky starting spot.
Race 9 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(1) ALEPPO HANOVER was very antsy in the pocket last week and I think it cost him; I’ll bet that Brennan has him blasting down the road tonight. (5) MR RIGHT HANOVER does fit with these but hails from connections that are still shut out here on the season; be careful. (6) MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT has some speed and in theory does fit well at this level. I find it hard to believe that (2) MYIDEALSON N is this bad; small piece, maybe?
Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) LOVINEVERYMINUTE actually returns at a reduced level off a nice closing victory at Philly and the mare seems to have no excuses from this spot. (5) FAITHFUL DESIRE also gets needed class relief and can wake up. (1) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE did beat lesser here three back on the engine. (6) ELLA CHRISTINA has looked better recently for Surick.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) LETTUCERIPRITA A needed last week’s start at Philly off the sick scratch and she was good in prior local efforts; mare may need some help from this spot but seems worth a look if the price is right. (2) PAPIAMENTO was a good second two back and gets an inside post tonight. (1) SUNKEN TREASURE is more than capable when right but his last few haven’t inspired much confidence. (3) CINNAMACK was empty on the rim last week; prior effort was good.
