Yonkers: Tuesday 8/15 Analysis

Best Bet: VELOCITY VESPA (1st)
Spot Play: FAITHFUL DESIRE (2nd)
Race 1
(4) VELOCITY VESPA dropped to this level last time and raced well for second behind a pretty good mare. This looks like a down the road spot. (3) ACEFORTYFOURAMANDA won the last time she raced at this level but the top choice should have a tactical advantage. (2) OUR GAMMA LADY N gets post and class relief; could improve.
Race 2
(5) FAITHFUL DESIRE ships in sharp from the Midwest and moves into a high percentage barn. There are no killers in here. (3) ALWAYS A ROSE was awful last time at Pocono but her prior start here was fine. (4) THAT’S HOW WE ROLL is better than her 2 for 19 record shows. Maybe one day she’ll wake up and prove it.
Race 3
(2) UNION MAN HANOVER dropped to this claiming price and won going away. Why not again? (4) DIRTY DEVIL has the early speed to make the top and with an easy trip he could easily score. (3) CARTOON DADDY saw his claiming price cut in almost half and was scratched-lame. That’s not a good sign. (1) KING ROYALTY found some late life a week ago; better post here.
Race 4
(1) UPFRONT COUNTRYBOY along with (2) HI HO STEVERINO have plenty of early speed in the tank to take charge from the inside and control the race. One of the two should win with the edge going to the former. (6) APOLLO SEELSTER dhips down in good form and should be a fit if the trip works out.
Race 5
(6) LONE RAIDER is very comfortable at this level and may have won last week if not for sizzling fractions; another shot. (2) MR RIGHT HANOVER missed nearly six months of action and came up short. Four-year-old has early speed and could certainly be tighter. (5) SUPREME MACH N gets class relief but could be racing uncovered. I wouldn’t be shocked if he overcame a tough trip.
Race 6
(4) MYIDEALSON N couldn’t seal the deal in his first pair of start here from more outside posts. He only needs a smoother trip to pick up a win. (2) VERY SPECIAL AGENT should make the front easily enough and sit a good trip. (1) WILLIE JOE HILL only has one win but that did come last week. Maybe he is coming around. (5) JUSTIN CREDIBLE gets a driver change to Zeron and that could make the difference; using.
Race 7
(7) CHOCOLATE CRACKERS moves into a solid barn after winning two straight and remains at the same level. (4) BARRY’S SHELBY is another that switches trainers. Banca could potentially move this guy up. (1) WILD BILL M should get away close to the action and have a shot in the lane if he is feeling good on Tuesday.
Race 8
(3) FANTICIPATION picked up some confidence on the class drop last time. She is a capable mare that can handle the tougher competition. (2) BLUSH HANOVER has the class but isn’t known for early speed or half-mile track prowess. (4) MOSQUITO BLUE CHIP is another accomplished mare; hard to toss.
Race 9
(1) OH JONNY B GOOD N & (5) BJ’S GUY both drop from the NW20000 level and figure to bring a top effort. Let’s give the former the edge because of the inside draw. (4) CAVIART SKYLER could show early speed and split the two top ones in the exacta.
Race 10
(1) LAWGIVER HANOVER seems to have caught a weaker NW10000 this week and Vallee should get aggressive from the cones. (4) ARSENIC comes off a monster mile at Saratoga. He’s probably the horse to beat but no lock in my book. (7) TOO DARN HOT seems to have found a good spot but drew an outside post. If Stratton can work out a trip this guy has a shot.
Race 11
(1) BIGTIME SO N SO improved in his second start for the DiDomenico barn. A 14-time winner with plenty of success on the fair circuit seems ready to show more. (4) ANDY’S IDEAL has done good work in this class and only needs a smooth trip to contend. (3) JOHN DALLY has big early speed and could use it to make his presence known.
Race 12
(1) FULLBACK has displayed a keen ability to pass horses and should be in a prime spot from post one tonight. (2) YOUCANIKNOW steps up off a couple of wins; maybe. (8) BRIAN J would be the chalk from an inside post. Even with the bad draw he should be a contender.
