Yonkers: Tuesday 7/30 Analysis

2019 STATS: 329 - 766 / $1,476.80 (-$55.20)
BEST BETS: 37 - 66 / $109.30 (-$22.70)
Best Bet: STORMY KROMER (2nd)
Spot Play: BELLATRICKS (7th)
Race 6 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500 Clm
(4) LET’S FOAL AROUND was aggressive last week and may have gone too fast on the engine before fizzing out; I’ll give him another chance in this rather dull field. (7) SHAVING MUG wasn’t bad upon dropping to this basement level but the main problem here is the post. (5) WILD WEST has been a rare bad claim by Brittany Robertson but he did show some life last week. (2) FREEDOM REIGNS has been racing okay versus comparable up at Saratoga.
Race 2 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) STORMY KROMER almost made it to the wire in time last week in a solid speed try and the gelding is clearly capable of taking these coast-to-coast here. (4) MARCH AWARENESS beat lesser here two back and he does have some class to him; he must be considered if anywhere near his 12/1 morning line. (5) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR gapped last week for his new connections but he was timed in 1:55 4/5, so the French bred can’t be all that bad here. (8) KING CAST fits with these but he’s getting away last; maybe he can pass a few.
Race 3 – F&M NW50000 in last 5 starts
(1) BLACKNSWEET ADDA A got “screwed” two back then was stuck in the eight hole last week; expect a top effort tonight from this spot. (4) VINTAGE BABE has been awful but she’s bound to turn it around eventually. (6) SWEET YOU has raced well in her last few with catch-drivers. (3) WOODMERE CELIDH had a decent acclimating mile last week.
Race 4 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) GALACTIC GALLEON N was second best just five days ago to a sharp winner who was debuting for a new barn; there are some decent ones in here but the Vallee trainee certainly fits. (2) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A drops, draws well and will be in the thick of things. (5) KIMANI N has disappointed since arriving in the U.S. and he drops for the third consecutive start; don’t accept too short of a price. (1) VORACITY is too unreliable to consider for the top spot in my opinion.
Race 5 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) ACTING OUT has back class and gets post relief in his second start for the Banca barn; logical. (5) DEMOCRACY N was aggressively handled last week before folding; class-wise he fits here. (1) THAT’S MY OPINION just hasn’t clicked off the Lounsbury reclaim; use underneath. (6) SENIOR MARKET was a good second from the eight hole two back at this level.
Race 6 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts **$10,000 GUARANTEED PICK-5 POOL**
(1) LK’S NANCY LEE was good at both ends last out and she has a legit chance of going wire-to-wire here. (7) MELANIE’S FILLY gets Brennan in the bike and seems to be a player here despite the poor post. (2) FREEZE OUT, as previously mentioned, will wake up and pop eventually; will I be on board? Probably not. (5) ROSE RUN TONI was close up at the finish last week to a repeating winner.
Race 7 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(8) BELLATRICKS fits perfectly at this level and I would be shocked if Brennan didn’t fire her to the front. (2) QUITE A DELIGHT N is up in class off a confidence-boosting win. (4) ONEIDA BLUE CHIP has raced well here in the past for Mike Simons. (5) CARLY GIRL could be a bit more involved this week, her third start off the Robertson claim.
Race 8 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(9) OSTRO HANOVER was in a poor spot with too far to come in that 4YO Open; Allard trainee fits better here and can take this with some racing luck. (10) BLOOD BROTHER has clearly been feeling good again but is another that needs to overcome a tricky post. Is a 9/10 box here really that far-fetched? (1) SOTO is back up the ladder again off a solid pocket-sitting score. (4) MISTER DAYTONA N seems capable of landing a share with a smooth trip.
Race 9 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) WINNERESS has only one win on the season but has hit the ticket in his last four; tepid call in this tough-to-figure event. (3) PERFECT STICK loses Bartlett but does get needed class relief. (2) TIDQUIST seems to do his best running with Holland in the bike but he can squeeze out a share from this spot if kept close enough to the action. (5) ONE OF THE FEW is ‘one of the few’ DiDomenico trainees who has underperformed in his last couple.
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) MAR NIEN A was seen facing much better when last at Yonkers and he must be used despite the poor post. (3) DREAM OF LUCK kept up decently in the three hole in his local return (note the chart is incorrect, he was 3rd at the quarter not 1st…this will be corrected going forward) and he can build off that effort. (5) ROCK N BLUE was awful last week, prior starts were good. (1) ON THE VIRG just missed last week in a good try.
