Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 1 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(3) MILADY DENVER A has been pretty ugly since the Annunziata claim but she raced well last week, gets to drop in class and this barn has been showing some signs of life. (6) BLACKNSWEET ADDA A returns locally and was facing much better than these when last seen here. (2) PATRONNE SEELSTER returns off a win at Monticello for Cory Stratton and she lands a good post; should land a share with a ground-saving trip. (1) ANOTHERPRETTYFACE tries a different class and gets major post relief.

Race 2 – Excelsior A 2YO Filly Trot

(1) CONDESCENDING added the hobbles for her second lifetime start, stayed trotting and was a good winner; filly can build off that effort. (6) STARRYSTARRYNIGHT dropped from the NYSS into the more comfortable Excelsior ranks and responded with a win. (3) MANNIE’S LADY took her career debut in easy fashion and is other logical contender in here.

Race 3 - Excelsior A 2YO Filly Trot

(2) WINNERANO was a touch short in her career debut but the Credit Winner filly should be able to build off that effort; Smedshammer gets back in the bike for the Purple Haze Stables, and they have teamed up to win a zillion NY Events over the years. (5) MAMA’S GIFT had decent speed at both ends at Tioga in her second career start; threat if she behaves herself. (5) CURLY POPS is another with early speed, and Dan Daley isn’t afraid to send one.

Race 4 - Excelsior A 2YO Filly Trot

(3) GREYSCALE broke as the favorite last start after making her career debut a winning one at Buffalo; Ducharme barn always has live NY breds and she could be the best price of the contenders. (2) ALANA’S BRILLIANCE is a nose shy of being a perfect two-for-two; clear player. (6) CONCERTED HANOVER had good speed at both ends at Tioga, missing a nose at the end.

Race 5 - Excelsior A 2YO Filly Trot

(5) NASTY GAL showed a decent closing effort in her career debut for Gates Brunet and she could be a late threat here in this evenly-matched Excelsior event. (1) FLOTUS has raced well in her first two efforts for seasoned NYSS vet John Stark, Jr. and she draws best; if she gets away cleanly through the first turn she’ll be trouble. (2) MY BLUE OPAL has shown promising speed in her young career but seems to need a bit more late stamina.

Race 6 – NW10000 in last 5 starts

(1) BATTLE MAGE has been facing some decent stock in Maryland and Delaware and he’s beaten better than these here in the past. (3) MANOFMANYIMAGES hasn’t done much in his last three but that was against better; this looks like a live spot. (4) MYSTICAL POWER has been disappointing since arriving locally for Lance Hudson but at least Stratton stays with her. (6) ONE OF THE FEW seems to have regained his stride out of town and should be a good price.

Race 7 – NW10000 in last 5 starts

(4) UNDICI looked very dull last start out but the French import was claimed by DiDomenico and I’m willing to give him a stab here on the barn-change angle. (5) LIMERENCE takes a needed drop in class and will be heard from. (6) OOH RAH fits nicely here and did battle hard before tiring last week. (3) BAZAAR BAZAAR went a huge parked-out effort in her local return and was right there at the wire; obvious player.

Race 8 – NYSS 2YO Filly Trot

(3) MISS JUBILATION was good to go off just one qualifier and she won at first asking for Svanstedt; filly could be even better tonight. (4) LOVE A GOOD STORY looked nice from the first time she hit the track at Gaitway for Team Miller and she looks to go three-for-three to start her career. (1) HUSHABYE trotted back halves uncovered in her first two outings and she did win one of them; smooth trip gives her a shot. (5) ILLDOITMYSELF was second best in her career debut for the Zerons then broke last out at 2/1; much bigger price looming tonight.

Race 9 - NYSS 2YO Filly Trot

(5) MUNSTER raced well enough to be second best in her career debut and now she gets a big driver change to Stratton; she deserves a long look off that angle. (7) SEVENTIMESALADY is another Svanstedt trainee who went well on debut and must be respected. (8) OLYMPIC GLORY ships East for Verlin Yoder and joins the Erv Miller barn off a nice winning qualifier at Hoosier. (4) NO MAS DRAMA was uncovered in her initial try and understandably flattened.

Race 10 - NYSS 2YO Filly Trot

(6) HYPNOTIC AM hails from connections that don’t mess around with cheap stock and this one may be serious based on that career debut; not much value to be had from a pari-mutuel standpoint but she must be selected on top. (1) DESTINY BLUE CHIP draws best for Svanstedt off an okay debut and she has her entrymate right next to her as good insurance. (2) WITHOUT A WARNING looked okay in those qualifiers for Ducharme then broke in her pari-mutuel debut; may be ignored in the wagering based on that. (5) REALLY BLUE CHIP has a NYSS win already under her belt for her ownership group.

Race 11 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(3) VICTORY AT LAST surprisingly fired to the front last week to cut the mile and ultimately tired but I liked the effort; I’ll give him a try here. (4) THIRTY TWO RED finally lands in a more realistic spot and should be much more involved. (5) SIMPLY SUSATIONAL N gets needed class relief but this barn hasn’t been firing locally; use caution. (2) BEAST MODE picked up small shares in his last two.

Race 12 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts

(1) JANUARY A was facing better when last at Yonkers and returns off a nice front-end score at Tioga while drawing best. (5) LYONS JENNIELEE gets Jordan Stratton back in the bike for his brother; that’s a nice angle. (3) ACEFORTYFOURALEX closed very nicely last start and can build off that effort. (4) AMATEUR HOUR was second best last week after saving ground; similar trip can land her a share.
