MEET STATS: 209 - 593 / $1,089.20 (-$96.80)

BEST BETS: 30 - 52 / $88.70 (-$15.30)

Best Bet: BADIX HANOVER (4th)

Spot Play: DEWAR N SODA (12th)

Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool

Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming

(3) COACH CAL has been improved of late and now goes for a higher-percentage barn off the claim while drawing well. (4) BROOKIES PRINCE N went a very tough eight-hole trip last out and didn’t tire that badly; pacer also goes for a new barn tonight (DiDomenico). (1) MISTER TRUTH has been right there in pretty much every start this year. (8) WILD WEST goes for Robertson off the claim but may be done in by post eight; take a look anyway.

Race 2 – Excelsior A Trot

(3) JASON’S CAMDEN has clearly been best in this division and even overcame a break to win last out; short price and likely winner, but is ‘no show wagering’ really necessary? (1) FULL RIGHTS added the hobbles and has looked better for Schnittker. (4) MR SMEAD has some speed and seems well-mannered for Dan Daley, who always shows up for these NYSS events with live stock.

Race 3 – Excelsior A Trot

(7) XCUSEME has been first or second in all nine of his starts this year and assuming John Stark, Jr. drives him on to the front he’ll be hard to catch. (3) LABADEE AS hails from good trotting connections and gets Bartlett back in the bike but he did break in a start here last month, though he recovered very nicely. (4) IM TP’S CRAZED BRO has hinted at decent ability and has certainly been paying the bills this season; expect some early speed.

Race 4 – NW5000 in last 5

(2) BADIX HANOVER has been a major disappointment this year but he did finish with good pace last week and was a winner when last at this level. (1) BEAST MODE returns locally and will have a shot if Brennan can keep him close early. (5) ROCK ABSORBER drops to the bottom but has looked non-competitive in two seasonal starts; who knows what to expect. (3) PARTY BOY was a winner when last in NW5000 but that was with a catch-driver; owner/trainer Kimelman drives tonight.

Race 5 – NYSS 3YO Trot

(5) WINNERUP has come back great for his 3YO campaign after a so-so freshman campaign for Smedshammer and he just looks a bit faster than these; grinds them down. (2) OUR WHITE KNIGHT picked up a nice piece in the NYSS Final last year and has come back nicely this season; his two starts here last month were solid. (1) CHAPTER FASHION has some ability for Jim Campbell but needs to behave himself moving to the half-miler.

Race 6 – NYSS 3YO Trot

(1) MR VICKTOR quickly figured things out this season and has already banked $142K with five wins; he’s clearly the one to beat going down the road but will offer a short price. (2) POWERSCOURT has represented himself very nicely for the McGiverns and he should be in line for a good trip up close. (4) JNR EXPRESS recently added the hobbles and has stayed flat but has to speed it up a bit to win here; use underneath.

Race 7 – F&M NW5000 in last 5

(3) FRANNEY LOVE DAT was no match from the pocket chasing the winner last week but she was clearly second best and she does have some early speed which can give her a good tactical advantage. (4) SHADY STELLA reversed form quickly last week when she charged home for the win but she’s been too inconsistent to accept a short price. (2) FAMILY ROLL CALL gets much-needed post relief and should be more involved. (1) SUDDEN CHANGE N returns locally at a reduced level and did try to wire similar five back before tiring.

Race 8 – NW10000 in last 5

(1) I’M THE MUSCLE changes hands from Lachance to Allard, picks up Bartlett (as his choice here), and seems eligible to pay immediate dividends. (8) SOUTHWIND CRUZE is a nice trotter for Jenn Bongiorno when he behaves himself and he returns off a winning qualifier; Sears drives tonight and may be worth a look. (2) MADMAN HALL has been second best in his last two and figures for a piece here. (5) DREAM MASSIVE took money upon arrival but broke; price will be much better tonight.

Race 9 – F&M NW5000 in last 5

(1) STONEBRIDGE HONEY was aggressively handled last week for her new barn but failed to sustain her run; she draws best here, picks up Stratton and deserves another chance. (4) PIRINEA’S PRINCESS hit the ticket here last week and did win at The Big M three back. (7) JADED DREAM ships from Maine where he took his last two impressively; post hurts, obviously. (6) ISLAY N had good finishing pace from too far back last out.

Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5

(2) MCVENUS drops in class and gets major post relief off a good closing effort last start; is the mare too obvious here? (1) ROSE RUN TONI keeps Stratton in the bike for Lance Hudson, draws best and may fit this class well. (5) MORE THAN MANY didn’t fire last week but she’s a proven entity at this level. (8) NEON SKY N draws worst, but she does have Bartlett driving and will offer a big price; include underneath.

Race 11 – NW5000 in last 5

(2) ZOEEZ BOY HENRY has always been an inconsistent type but Stratton seems to get along with him and he did close willingly last start. (7) UNDRAFTED makes his second start since moving to the Harris barn, picks up Bartlett off a good try at The Meadowlands and I suspect he’ll attract some attention off that 20/1 morning line. (3) SOUTHERN ALLIE broke retaking at odds-on in his local return; price will be better now. (1) ROCK ON PRECIOUS went a speedy clip last week and figures to be prominently placed again.

Race 12 – F&M NW10000 in last 5

(2) DEWAR N SODA has been underachieving all year but she closed a ton last week in her local return and any further improvement will land her back in the winner’s circle. (4) CERTIFIED IDEAL drops back down in class making her third start of the year and could be tighter tonight. (5) MOTU MOONBEAM N seems to have perked up at The Meadowlands; include. (7) JUXTA COWGIRL had no real excuse last week and now she lands outside; does Brennan take a shot leaving?
