Race 1
(5) JUSTABITOFCHARM is clearly the fastest and most accomplished of these; filly picks up Bartlett and is the one to beat but will get hammered down at the windows. (2) LUNAR STRIDE paced willingly in her second lifetime start and it looks like there's room for improvement. (6) DUELING BANJOS hails from a small outfit that usually has very live stock (think Carobbean Pacetry); consider.
Race 2
(4) ADAGIO LE LA TOUR has clearly tailed off lately after having some solid efforts for these connections earlier in the year; this is a good spot to get well, however. (8) MIGHTY NICKY jogged at Freehold in a qualifier after shipping from Canada to join Team Bongiorno; this one deserves respect despite the poor post; watch the board. (1) SHOWMEYOURGUNS has had trouble getting underway in 2019 but he does draw best and was Brennan's choice.
Race 3
(5) ROLL WITH MIMI may be a bit of a risky play with her low-percentage driver but she's been showing live moves up at Saratoga and may just be a touch faster than these. (2) IRISH ART gets Bartlett upon arrival from Vernon but she appears to have 'seconditis' with six runner-up finishes in 13 lifetime starts. (1) GUSSY'S REALDEAL will likely need a start making her seasonal debut but she does draw best and should be close up throughout.
Race 4
(3) STORM SURVIVOR raced well last week at Pocono in what should serve as a needed tightener and she picks up Bartlett for her local debut. (5) SIMONE blitzed them in a qualifier in Vernon serving notice that she's ready to go here making her 2019 debut. (4) SIESTA BEACH was an easy winner here last week in a NW2 event; clear contender.
Race 5
(2) FINAL ESCAPE raced okay in the Weiss at Pocono and acclimated well locally last week; she gets Morrill back in the bike and seems as capable as anyone in here. (5) CHASE YOU was Zeron's choice of three; only concern is the recent scratch-sick line. (3) MAJOR FROST had a decent 2-year-old season in the Excelsiors but seemed a touch short in those qualifiers.
Race 6
(6) CODE MEISTER goes back to Brittany Robertson via claim and he was a winner in this barn with Bartlett driving a few starts back. (8) NY WHITESOX lands all the way outside with just so-so form but it's impossible not to notice the barn change here to Allard; watch the board for clues. (2) BIG TURN ON has had some good local efforts recently and the gelding should be a player from this good post.
Race 7
(1) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A kept up well in his last two versus some tougher competition and he should be in line for a good trip from the best post. (4) BETTORS GLASS drops to the basement and was a winner when last at this level with Brennan driving; he looks like the one to beat but won't offer much value. (2) BETTOR SPIRITS N is fresh Team Bongiorno stock from Ohio; watch out!
Race 8
(5) MUSCLE AVE drops in class, lands a good midpack post and was Stratton's choice; consider if the price is decent in this very competitive affair. (9) PERFECT STICK raced very well to be third best in her last local try. (6) KIND CAST added the trotting hobbles last week and raced deceptively well to be third best at a big price; he may be ignored in the wagering again and can hit the ticket with a smooth trip.
Race 9
(4) ZERO TOLERANCE was a top two-year-old last season with almost $500K banked and she went very well in her 2019 debut at Philly (despite losing at 1/5); Holloway trainee is clearly best here. (3) SO AWESOME missed a nose in last year's NYSS final and she looks like the most logical one here to complete a chalky exacta. (2) MEGHAN LYNN brushed and crushed in her local return, now in the Bongiorno barn, and she raced willingly in limited two-year-old action last year.
Race 10
(5) JK AMERICAN BEAUTY was very sharp in victory last week at The Meadowlands and she gets a massive driver upgrade to Zeron for her NYSS debut. (1) MONEY SHOT HANOVER was the NYSS champ as a two-year-old and she should be tight off that seasonal debut; clear player from the best post with Tetrick driving. (2) COROMANDEL has lots to prove shipping in from Harrington with just two lifetime starts (both wins); filly debuts for Allard off what looks like a private purchase.
Race 11
(6) SELL A BIT N has fallen on hard times but she was a good second at The Big M last out and it's hard to imagine her losing to this type. (4) AL MAR GOT A FEVER was an easy winner versus cheaper at Philly upon moving to the DiDomenico barn; consider. (1) LK'S NANCY LEE was sharp two back off the claim then got overhauled by Mach It A Par last out; move inside makes her a major player.
Race 12
(3) GALACTIC GALLEON N is not the most prolific of winners but he's been racing well for Vallee and the veteran deserves a long look here. (1) ARTMAGIC used to be good and now he's been very inconsistent; tough to take a short price on him. (8) LORD OF MISRULE fits this level perfectly; only problem here is the post.
