Yonkers: Tuesday 4/16 Analysis

Best Bet: SCOTCH MCEWAN (1st)
Spot Play: ONE OF THE FEW (7th)
MEET STATS: 124 - 346 / $621.10 (-$70.90)
BEST BETS: 18 - 29 / $54.90 (-$3.10)
Race 1
(4) SCOTCH MCEWAN gets class and post relief in his second start since moving to the Lance Hudson barn and this certainly appears to be the winning spot. (5) MCERLEAN is a quality 'Saturday night horse' when on his game and it looks like last week's win at Philly is a step in the right direction. (3) SPORTSKEEPER is right back in the box on short notice and can round out the ticket.
Race 2
(1) SWANSEA has looked great in every local start and is clearly the one to catch here in one of three unnecessarily abbreviated Bonus trot fields; 1/9 price looming? (2) CHASIN' DREAMS figures to be chasing from this spot and can complete a short number. (5) IMF is post compromised and looks primed to round out the tri (if that wager was actually offered).
Race 3
(3) BROADWAY PROMISE was very good here in a local start last month and the DiDomenico trainee seems to fit perfectly here. (1) BARRY BLACK gets big-time post relief but he needs an alert getaway for his best chance; don't take too short of a price. (4) NEWCASTLE always has good speed for Team Bongiorno but he needs to show more late.
Race 4
(5) SOME PLAYA has been decent since returning locally and this veteran has always represented himself well over this oval; we've seen good speed from this one in the past and it wouldn't shock me to see Stratton have him in play early. (2) CHEYENNE REIJANE returns to Yonkers with much-needed post relief and he draws well. (3) ZACH MAGUIRE N had a tough overland trip upon dropping to this level and he'll be a player with smoother sailing.
Race 5
(5) JOEY BATS just needs to behave himself and he can demolish this group. (6) RICH AND MISERABLE took care of business at a very short price last week and he now loses Bartlett while drawing the worst post; this Dave Miller guy is listed to drive, however, so I think he'll be in good hands. (1) FASHION FOREVER closed for a share last week and now moves all the way back inside; he should hit the ticket here.
Race 6
(2) JUPITER JOHNNY has done little off the Allard claim, which obviously is quite unusual. Gelding drops back in for a tag in his local return, draws well and seems to be in a spot to show more. (4) SUDDENLY SAM was a winner off the barn change to Robertson and we'll see if he can handle tougher here. (1) ROCKIN M figures to save ground and can emerge late with good pace.
Race 7
(6) ONE OF THE FEW wanted to leave last week but had to take back, then broke attempting a second move; I'll certainly give him another chance if the price is right. (1) HENDERSON SEELSTER went on a wild break early last week burning the money; obviously he's a big player here if he behaves himself. (3) BROADWAY CREDIT rallied well last week behind a runaway winner and is obviously a factor here.
Race 8
(9) LORD OF LISRULE certainly needs some help from this spot but he's more than capable with smooth sailing. (5) MISTER DAYTONA is clearly the one to beat from this spot but he'll likely be overbet in this bulky field. (1) BLOOD BROTHER is clearly not on his game but he does get his favorite driver back and is classy enough to turn it around.
Race 9
(2) LILY'S SWAN POND gets needed class relief in his local return and the Surick-trained veteran should be good to go from this spot. (3) HASTTAGMADEYOULOOK hasn't been bad but certainly hasn't been great for Team Bongiorno; tough to take if the price is too low. (4) CRITICAL MASS goes back to a barn via claim that he seems to have had more success in and he should be a healthy price; include underneath.
Race 10
If I knew that Scott Zeron was blasting with (8) BELLATRICKS I would send it in with confidence. Veteran fits perfectly at this level and only needs that alert getaway. (4) QUITE A DELIGHT N gets class relief for a good outfit. (1) POPPY DRAYTON N also gets needed class and post relief but her form has been nothing to get excited about and she's tough to take at a short price.
