Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 95 - 277 / $507.30 (-$46.70)
BEST BETS: 14 - 24 / $46.80 (-$1.20)
Best Bet:
WESTERN EXPOSURE (6th)
Spot Play: SHE’SONEHOTWRITER (8th)

Race 1 – M LIFE REWARDS Pacing Series

(3) EAST BEACH cut the mile at odds-on as expected in round one of this series but was collared by an equally sharp rival; Burke trainee is in a good spot to make amends. (4) TELLITSABB has done nothing wrong since arriving locally for Travis Alexander. (1) VIRGIN STORM was a safe winner last week but that was arguably the softest division. (2) UNION STATION was antsy early and gave way from the pocket late; he’ll land a piece here if he relaxes along the rail.

Race 2 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(4) MISSUS MIA WALLACE has been racing pretty well up at Monti in the top classes there and was an easy winner last time Renaldo Morales III was in the bike; this driver appears to have some talent. (5) LUCKY SHIELA was second best in a decent try upon arrival for Team Bongiorno and would obviously be no surprise here. (2) BATTLE MAGE hasn’t done much recently but the class and post relief should help. (3) DEO was in the midst of a rally when he broke last week; he can round out the bottom of the ticket at a big price.

Race 3 - M LIFE REWARDS Pacing Series

(4) TAP TAP TAP was racing well in NW6 prior to taking the first leg of this series and the Andrew Harris trainee is clearly the one to beat here. (1) SHAMMA LAMMA charged home to just miss in his seasonal debut and should be even tighter tonight. (5) RAZOR’S EDGE was a game uncovered winner last week and is obviously capable but drawing outside of his main competition won’t help his cause. (2) LYING IN CASH is another sharp contender here.

Race 4 - M LIFE REWARDS Pacing Series

(2) APEX SEELSTER had missed three weeks coming into this series and was a solid second after sitting the pocket trip; Allard trainee lands a favorable post again and looms large here. (3) TWIN B JAYS raced okay off the winner’s cover last out and he moves in a couple of slots here; player. (6) BUDDY HILL gave way under pressure as the favorite last week; expect him to be employing off-the-pace tactics here at a much better price. (4) P L MUNSON finally draws a better post.

Race 5 – NW7500 in last 5 starts **$10K GTD PICK-5 POOL**

(2) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR gapped the rail with little rally last week but had won his prior two starts versus better; veteran can resume winning ways with the class relief. (5) WATKINS has clearly been feeling good of late and the 13-year-old should be a player. (3) HASHTAGMADEYOULOOK was a winner last week for the “powerhouse” Carl Tirella barn and now he goes for new connections off the claim; sharp sort can be respected. (1) FREDDIE MAC tried leaving last week from the eight hole at 1000/1 odds and that didn’t work out so well; he can land a piece with the move all the way inside.

Race 6 - M LIFE REWARDS Pacing Series

(3) WESTERN EXPOSURE closed with plenty of late pace upon arrival but just had a bit too far to come; post relief obviously makes him a big threat. The favorite? (4) CAVIART STETSON was used hard from the eight hole last week and fizzled out; considering that was his first start off the bench more can be expected from the Harris trainee tonight. (7) SEMI TOUGH also returned off the holiday break and was a winner at first asking; outside draw again will make it harder to repeat. (1) ROAR OF APPROVAL gets another crack from the best post after breaking in the first turn last week.

Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(1) QUICK DEAL returns locally and can take this field the distance, IF he minds his manners. (3) ZOOMING is another classy veteran who has obviously lost a step or two but should still be very competitive here. (2) EXARCH qualified effectively and was Kakaley’s choice. (7) MAGIC MVP has been facing better for Pat Berry but needs to overcome the outside post.

Race 8 – NW2 races or $32,000 lifetime

(6) SHE’SONEHOTWRITER raced pretty well upon arrival in a needed race and she can move forward off that effort. (2) LEMON ZEST drops back to the NW2 level and was a close second from a similar spot a few back. (8) ANNE BONNEY N raced very willingly in her U.S. debut; only thing potentially stopping her from graduating is the eight hole. (4) DEE DEE KAY made her 3-year-old debut last week at Pocono and closed nicely to be second best.

Race 9 – NW8200 in last 5 starts

(2) WINNERESS shook free and finished well in his seasonal debut; he steps up a notch here but has been competitive with better in the past. (6) MUSCLE AVE hasn’t done much of late but the class relief should help. (1) P L JERICO drops, moves all the way inside and was a close second the last time Bartlett drove. (4) BINGO QUEEN scored in just her second start back off the break and the 11-year-old just keeps chugging along.

Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts

(2) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME was reclaimed by Allard (again), goes back to Dube and can resume winning ways. (1) NO EXCUSES drops back to a better level, moves back inside and just missed from a similar spot five back. (5) NEWCASTLE returns to Yonkers for Jenn/Joe off a nice effort at Pocono. (3) DIRTY SECRET can hold off the rest for a small share.

Race 11 – NW6 races or $20,000 lifetime

(7) APRIL AVA was used to the lead last out, opened up a big lead getting way from all including (2) UPTOWN LADY N, and won easily. Perhaps she can do it again. The latter has obvious talent and will be motoring late. (3) ODDS ON CLEARWATER gets some post relief and should be more involved. (4) MANHATTAN NIGHT will probably be conservatively handled and can land a piece.

Race 12 – NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime

(5) BIRCH ISLAND BETTY was forced to grind uncovered and was outfinished late; from this spot she may be able to ride a cover trip which will be better suited for her closing kick. (2) CORAL BELLA elected to sit last week and shook free with pace after the fact; more aggressive handling may produce different results. (3) SOMETHING REEL was a well-driven upset winner last out by Bongiorno. (1) CABOWABOCUTTIE has speed from the best post but needs to show more late.
