Yonkers: Tuesday 2/4 Analysis

MEET STATS: 29 - 92 / $148.60 (-$35.40)
BEST BETS: 5 - 8 / $19.00 (+$3.00)
Best Bet: KEYSTONE HONOR (1st)
Spot Play: HIGGS BOSON (3rd)
Race 1 – $10,000 Claiming
(3) KEYSTONE HONOR has jogged in two straight off the Banca claim and he’s stuffed into the same class again; veteran figures to take another at a short price. (4) MANHATTAN BENNY is back at the $10K claiming level where he was an easy winner two back. (5) CC BIG BOY SAM has been sharp but goes for a new barn off the claim; he’ll land a share if he maintains his form. (1) MORE DRAGON is erratic but can hit the ticket with a smooth trip.
Race 2 – NW4 races or $56,200 lifetime
(1) BLACKWELL RUBY IR powered away ultra-impressively last start and it’s tough to make a case against her; Cleary trainee will look to complete a very chalky double. (3) HP XANADU was left alone on the front end last week and scored the 11/1 upset; DiDomenico trainee is a logical candidate to complete the exacta. (4) MILIONDOLAR BEAUTY faces better off a game win for top connections. (7) TRIPLE DIP had been very sharp prior to her last two races; she’ll be a price tonight and does have the ability.
Race 3 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(2) HIGGS BOSON never had a chance in his local debut for Team Bongiorno; he definitely deserves another chance from this better spot. (1) SUGAR TOP hasn’t fired in quite some time but the post relief should help his cause. (5) PEMBROKE BADA BING gets a nice driver upgrade to Bartlett upon arrival from The Meadowlands. (4) ALEXANDER HANOVER raced okay here last week and a similar effort can land him a share.
Race 4 – NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime
(6) MAGGIE RHEE proved much the best up at Monticello and she takes a shot here going for much more money; this barn has been sending out live ones recently. (1) DREAMFAIR HELENA gets much-needed post relief and a driver switch to Bartlett. (7) LOVIN COCOA has finally seemed to put it all together and she goes for two straight but the poor post hurts. (3) LADY NATASHA did flash good early speed last week before tiring.
Race 5 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(4) UVA HANOVER has come back sharp for Allard off the year-plus layoff and it’s only a matter of time before he visits the winner’s circle. (1) KEYSTONE ANGEL drops to a more favorable level and draws best. (6) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME is back up a notch in class off a confidence-building victory. (5) MIAMI has been good recently over at The Big M and he picks up Holland in his local return for the suddenly hot Carl Tirella barn.
Race 6 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) CULINARY DELIGHT N probably wins last week if not for those breaks; Stalbaum student deserves another chance. (1) SHES SPORTY A moves back to the Banca barn where she had some success last season. (5) AMAZING ARYA makes her local debut off a so-so qualifier and it seems like she will fit well at this level but I don’t understand the low morning-line. (2) FUTURE DELIGHT arrives from The Meadowlands, draws well enough and could land a piece.
Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) TROPICAL STORM BI trotted evenly in his local return and he lands a decent post in this very soft field; he could be worth a try at what figures to be a decent price. (5) MOOSE MADNESS returns from Ohio and picks up Bartlett; he does have plenty of local experience. (2) WATKINS hasn’t done much recently but this is a good spot for the oldtimer to get well. (4) FREDDIE MAC was third best in his last three.; board threat again.
Race 8 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(1) SHEZALLAPPLES A parlayed a perfect trip into an easy win last week versus a notch lesser but she’s got plenty of back class and seems capable of stringing a few together. (4) AZURE SEELSTER was aggressively handled by Lachance last out and faltered late; mare may be better off chasing. (2) CHECK MACH goes for DiDomenico off the claim; can she improve off last week’s awful effort? (3) BETTERTHANBRIE can go with these but has missed time; mixed feelings.
Race 9 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) QUEEN JOSEPHINE didn’t really fire when called upon last out but she gets needed class relief while driving best and Bartlett sticks. (5) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI has little current form but she’s another that drops down a notch and it wouldn’t surprise me if she showed up with a better effort. (8) BELLATRICKS is best at this level and does have strong early speed. (2) MISS IRISH ROSE A figures to be close up throughout for Stalbaum.
Race 10 – NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime
(2) KYLIE SEELSTER arrives from Woodbine Mohawk Park where she had a decent 3-year-old season and was doing okay so far this year; mare looks like she will fit in well here. (5) DARKRSHADEOFPALE N makes her second U.S. start for good Down-under connections and she likely needed that start across the river. (1) SEZANA N lands the best post which will help her cause. (8) BA BA BA BANANA is blossoming into a legit talent but unfortunately she’s stuck in the eight hole again.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) LE REVEUR N went through the motions last week from the eight hole but the Allard trainee put in a solid effort in defeat two back; move inside likely makes him the one to beat. (5) IMF overcame a break to win going away versus lesser in her local return; Gannon trainee faces better but seems sharp enough to compete. (1) DI OGGI got the job done on the front end last week but will have to go faster to repeat. (7) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR fits with these but will likely be done in by the poor post; use underneath.
Race 12 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime
(3) WESTERN SECRET A had a very productive U.S. debut but just couldn’t reach the well-rated frontrunner; expect an even better showing from the import tonight. (1) CRISP MANE finally lands an inside post and was right there five back when starting inside. (6) BIRCH ISLAND BETTY stormed home for the 67/1 upset last week and she’ll be a closing threat again. (2) SO FRISKY was outkicked home in last but figures to be close up again and can be used on the ticket.
