Race 1 – $10,000 Claiming
(4) KEYSTONE HONOR jogged last week off the Banca claim and he stays at a winning level. (5) MIDNIGHT DYLAN N was second best to the top choice after flashing good early speed and similar tactics can get him into the runner-up spot again. (1) JK HEAVEN SENT drops to the bottom claiming level, draws best again and figures to be a part of this. (3) CC BIG BOY SAM was a winner here last week upon arrival and the Hartline trainee looks for three straight overall.
Race 2 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) IMF burned a ton of money last start at Dover and overall she has just modest current form but the trotter has plenty of local experience including a couple of wins here last year. (3) ELDORADO OF GOLD S goes for another new barn this week coming off a miscue; he should be heading to the front. (5) PANAMANIAN HANOVER drops to the bottom conditioned level and should show more. (1) TECH TITAN gets much-needed post relief.
Race 3 – NW2 races or $25,000 lifetime
(3) ANURKA gets a free ride at this NW2 level looking to make it two straight and the Pelling trainee looks like the deserving favorite. (2) THANEEYA raced okay last week from the pocket in her local debut and she draws well again. (6) LOVIN COCOA has hopefully put her breaking problems behind her; only concern here is the poor post and the missed time. (1) NORTH STAR IDEAL has hinted at ability up at Monticello and ships in to race in for triple the money.
Race 4 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(2) DI OGGI disappointed last out at The Meadowlands making his first start off the Burke purchase but I’ll give him another chance shipping in. (1) EXS AND OHS gets both class and post relief; big player. (5) LADY EAGLE has shown that she can go with this type, if only she can stay trotting. (6) HIGGS BOSON has been racing just evenly out of town but anything from the Jenn Bongiorno barn deserves respect.
Race 5 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) ROYALTYWESTHO is fresh Burke stock and she qualified quite effectively in preparation for her 2020 debut; mare can provide dividends at first asking. (1) KAMWOOD LAUGHTER N raced fine last start but just had no chance from the eight hole; post relief makes the veteran a player. (6) SCWARTZ BROS BEATY returns to the pari-mutuel wars for Banca at a reduced level and Bartlett is back driving. (5) NORTHERN SWIFT returns from The Big M and could be a closing threat.
Race 6 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(3) UVA HANOVER made his first start in 18 months last week and raced very willingly for Allard; trotter should be even tighter tonight. (1) ARRAKIS has good speed from the best post; player. (2) TORKIL had no real excuse last out and now he faces a bit better; he should hit the ticket but is tough to endorse on top. (4) INTEROVER graduated from the NW conditioned ranks just five days ago at a big price.
Race 7 – NW10600 in last 5 starts
(2) PERFECT STICK gets some needed class and post relief making her third seasonal start and I would expect the Lorentzon trainee to be much more involved tonight. (3) GOLDEN KRONOS also faces lesser from an improved post and could be heading to the front. (6) BROADWAY MOJO didn’t fire last week trying to make a second move but Goodell sticks with him and he could have more to offer at a nice price. (8) LE REVEUR N gave it a good try on the front end coming off the holiday break; only problem here is the post.
Race 8 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(1) AMERICAN SARA invades from the Meadowlands for the Cullipher barn and she lands the best post while appearing to fit well class-wise; worth a try in this competitive event. (3) BETABCOOL N bumps up a notch off a good try and the Godinez trainee has back class. (2) CAMPUS QUEEN turned it around last week with a strong sweep from the back to upset; Bartlett sticks with her. (4) MISS IRISH ROSE A gave way at The Big M last out and has missed a few weeks but could be a player for Stalbaum if she’s ready.
Race 9 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime
(2) WESTERN SECRET A fits this NW4 conditioned level upon arrival from Australia and she could be ready to go off those two qualifiers; watch the board. (4) PLATINUM PEARL took similar coast-to-coast last out for Burke; clear threat to repeat. (3) HP XANADU fired from the eight hole last week but collapsed late; she loses Brennan to the Burke trainee tonight but should be a factor from this improved post. (5) LEMON ZEST will be coming late for Lachance.
Race 10 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime
(2) SEZANA N has raced well in all recent local starts for Bucci and the good inside post makes her a prime player here. (3) BETCHA BABY didn’t have the easiest of trips last week, where she didn’t gain when asked but also didn’t tire all that badly; prior two efforts were solid wins. (1) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE is another in here who should benefit big-time with the post relief. (5) MANHATTAN NIGHT could be best of the rest.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) BOOTS N CHAINS trotted evenly last out and now goes for Allard off the claim; can he show enough improvement to win here? (5) IN SECRET is back at Yonkers and has had tons of success here over the years; Brennan’s choice. (1) NO EXCUSES faces a bit better off a nice upset win last week. (3) KEYSTONE ANGEL made an untimely break last out when on the move; Stratton gets the catch drive tonight for the Jenn Bongiorno barn.
Race 12 – NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime
(3) LINE DANCER was aggressively handled early at a huge price coming off the holiday break but came up short in the late stages; she moves back into the NW conditioned ranks tonight and though her win record is a bit concerning she deserves consideration, especially if she offers value like her morning-line indicates. (2) BE BEST is razor-sharp and goes for three straight. (5) PRIVACY HANOVER looks like decent stock and Bartlett driving for the Blackler barn is always a good angle. (8) BA BA BA BANANA is coming off a career mile for Nick Clegg but will have to overcome the eight hole tonight.
