Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(2) IOWA NEIGHTIVE was a strong two-move winner two back off the Izzy Estrada claim then couldn’t handle the double-jump to $20K claimers. He’s back at the proper level tonight and should be the one to beat. (3) DON MCWHITE was a good winner at an overlay price last week and will be another big player tonight despite losing Bartlett, who’s not racing on the card. (1) OWN IT was second best last out and does his best work at this level. (4) MR HAM SANDWICH looked more manageable last out but still burned money as he couldn’t seal the deal.
Race 2 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) DW’S NY YANK is a classy millionaire trotter and the Burke trainee is impossible to look past at this reduced level. (8) CLARION HALL was stuffed in the pocket last week but it didn’t matter as he was still able to win yet again; eight hole won’t be a problem for this speedy gelding. (5) DIRTY SECRET gets Holland in the bike, will offer a big price and could be considered underneath. (1) EXS AND OHS has been lacking in the late stages in her last two but she can hang around for a minor share.
Race 3 - $12,500 Claiming
(6) KID PK has been around seemingly forever and he returns locally at a reduced (and winning) level. (1) AMRCANBOOTSCOOTA A has regressed in his last few but the drop and best draw can help wake him up. (3) TOP OF THE MARK returns locally and the Harris barn has had good success recently with these bottom-level claimers. (2) RANSOM DEMAND will be close up throughout and can garner a share.
Race 4 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming Handicap
(5) DOJEA SOLO drops in below the level of his recent claim by Banca and he’s a legit threat to take these wire-to-wire. (2) DEERFIELD BEAACH raced decently last week in a needed start and the move inside makes him a player here. (1) REDONKULOUS has been razor-sharp for Harris and he can land a nice share despite facing a bit better. (4) DIAMOND COWBOY gets some post relief which will help his cause.
Race 5 - $20,000 Claiming
(5) TALENT SOUP gapped badly last week for his new barn but he was reclaimed by Allard (at a $5K premium) and he can resume winning ways. (4) LET’S FOAL AROUND lost touch from the pocket chasing a monster on the front end last out and his early speed will put him in play again. (2) AMERICAN INFLUENCE exits the age-restricted races, drops in for a tag for Erv Miller and he certainly seems fast enough to compete here. (6) HIGHVIEW CONALL N was an interesting claim for Pat Berry despite not having the greatest of current form and we’ll see if he shows improvement.
Race 6 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(6) BRONZE OVER N went a huge parked-out trip last week and was beaten just a nose in a wild finish when all was said and done; DiDomenico trainee is reunited with Brennan. (5) JUXTA COWGIRL was equally game coming out of that same race and she should be on the move early again. (4) COLOR ENVY has raced just evenly off the Allard claim but she does get a bit of class relief tonight. (2) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX is tough to consider for the top spot but she can save ground and emerge with a small share.
Race 7 – NW8200 in last 5 starts
(5) SWANCREDIT raced very well at a huge price last week, with good trot at both ends of his mile. He should offer some decent value again tonight. (5) SHOWMEYOURGUNS was second best in his last two and figures prominently again here; Brennan’s back driving. (1) BATTLE MAGE has good speed but needs to show more late; use underneath. (7) TIDQUIST will likely have too far to come from this spot but can emerge on the scene late for a small share.
Race 8 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) I’LL CALL U LATER put in a solid effort at a big price in his local return and similar effort can get the job done versus some shaky rivals. (1) FIZZING N has been a disappointment since arriving from Down-Under for Vallee but he drops again and draws best; he can take this but won’t offer much value. (4) MAAJAACKKOBE has flashed good speed in his last two at The Meadowlands and Brennan should have him on the move early from this spot. (8) EXIT CAM fits with this type but the eight hole with Steve Smith driving doesn’t appear all that attractive; consider including if he’s a healthy price (much higher than his listed 4/1 morning line).
Race 9 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) TALK SHOW put in a good effort off the bench before galloping midstretch; Banca trainee qualified back fine and seems to be one of many with a legit chance in here. (1) VORACITY finds his best spot in some time; will he finally get his first seasonal win? I’m not taking a short price to find out. (5) JET ROCK was far back versus age-restricted types in his two local starts for DiDomenico; Brennan gets the drive tonight and I expect better. (3) ZAMPARA gets class and post relief in his second local start.
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) DECISION DAY was on the scene way too late last week when the outcome had already been decided; clearly he’ll be a force here if kept closer to the action. (6) GINGER TREE MARTY arrives for Burke with some class relief and I would expect aggressive handling. (3) MACHTU N is a gutsy veteran from the Surick barn who should fit well with this type. (1) JUST PLAIN LOCO ships in landing the best post and the Fanning trainee can work out a live trip.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) ACTING OUT gets much-needed post relief, was a winner when last at this level and should offer good value losing Bartlett. (1) ROCKAPELO disappointed a bit in two recent local tries but class relief and the best post will make him a major player. (3) LORD OF MISRULE doesn’t win nearly as often as he should but Brennan’s back driving for the strong DiDomenico barn. (2) KNOCKING AROUND is up in class off a nice off-the-pace score and the good post can help him land a share.
