Race 1 - $10,000 Claiming
(4) SPORTY MERCEDES moves in a few spots for his second local appearance and will likely be more involved. (2) MASTER THE VIEW hasn’t done much recently but he should be tighter this week and can make some noise. (6) CC BIG BOY SAM is arguably the sharpest in here, coming off a win versus $7,500 claimers at The Meadowlands; Holland picks up the catch drive. (8) TOP OF THE MARK has Bartlett driving for the Harris barn but not much else to endorse; small piece?
Race 2 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(2) MAXIMUSCLE had a very useful race up at Monti last week and the Allard trainee looks like he’ll be a good fit here at this bottom-conditioned level. (4) SOUL TRAIN gets some needed class relief and looms a large threat. (1) HASHTAGMADEYALOOK gave way under harsh pressure last week and can be a player if not used as hard. (5) SUGAR TOP was a winner when last at this level with Brennan in the bike.
Race 3 – NW2 races or $26,000 lifetime
(1) THANEEYA kicked clear easily after being well-rated on the front end last out at Freehold; mare draws best upon arrival looking for three straight. (2) LEMON ZEST finished willingly last week for Lachance and she figures to be a player again. (6) MILIONDOLAR BEAUTY was a close second last week after sitting a live pocket trip; move outside doesn’t help, however. (3) ARTFULLY DEALT showed good speed here in a couple of December starts.
Race 4 - $10,000 Claiming
(4) KEYSTONE HONOR debuts for Banca off the claim after a long run in the Laterza barn and the veteran remains at the same bottom level; Bartlett drives now and he sure seems logical. (2) CADILLAC PHIL has been pretty sharp over at The Big M for good connections. (1) MY SPIRIT SOARS was second best last week from an inside post. (6) MIDNIGHT DYLAN N returns locally and has plenty of back class.
Race 5 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(5) ELDORADO OF GOLD S was baked up in the early stages last week snapping his run of good local efforts and he’s another who goes to Banca via claim. (3) KEYSTONE CHARGER gets post relief and raced well two back from a similar spot. (6) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME burned all the money with that break before the start last out; DiDomenico trainee drops in class and can certainly rebound. (7) ZAGSTER also broke in his last local race but made a nice recovery; outside post hurts.
Race 6 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(6) BERAZZLED returns from Ohio and has raced well here in the past; Allard trainee qualified effectively and could be ready for action in this competitive event. (2) SUDDENLY ROYAL is another coming off a good qualifier making his seasonal debut and drawing a good post obviously helps. (5) BETABCOOL N takes a needed drop in class and is capable of better. (1) LK’S NANCY LEE has some speed from the best post.
Race 7 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(1) THE LADY SHERIFF was aggressively driven from the rail last week and gave way late but now she goes for Banca off the claim and gets Bartlett in the bike. (3) MOTU MOONBEAM N brushed and crushed against cheaper in her local return; hike in class doesn’t scare me. (4) CHERRY BLISS is not a prolific winner but she fits well with this type and can be included. (7) CAVIART CHERIE got hung the mile last week and didn’t tire all that badly; mare does have some class to her.
Race 8 – NW8000 in last 5 starts
(2) LIFE WELL LIVED is back on short rest off that big upset win at The Meadowlands and he’s fit well here with this type in the past. (4) BATTLE MAGE could not reach last week from an outside post versus better but this is a much more realistic spot. (8) VOLARE put in a huge winning effort off the bench for Allard; trotter is up in class while all the way outside but still deserves a look off that race. (5) SWANCREDIT has been hanging a bit recently; use underneath.
Race 9 – NW7 races or $76,000 lifetime
(3) PRIVACY HANOVER was stuck outside with no realistic chance in her two 2020 races but she gets needed post relief and this barn sent out a couple of winners last week. (2) TELLAWOMAN has looked live in most of her local races for DiDomenico; Kakaley’s choice. (4) SEZANA N and (5) BA BA BA BANANA both have good early speed from their midpack posts and both deserve some consideration.
Race 10 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime
(3) CLEARLY BETTER went evenly upon arrival for small check but it was a productive enough effort and she could be ready to show more from this improved post. (5) BLACKWELL RUBY IR handled lesser in her local debut and clearly she has talent but she will likely be overbet here. (2) MA NINA BONITA gets needed post relief and should be close to the action throughout. (8) HP XANADU raced well last out for DiDomenico; outside draw obviously hurts her chances tonight.
Race 11 – NW10800 in last 5 starts
(3) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR was dead-game on the front end last week beating a notch lesser and he’s classy enough to win again facing a field with no standouts. (4) KEYSTONE ANGEL was held at bay by the top one last out and overall that’s three solid efforts since moving to Team Bongiorno. (5) LILY’S SWAN POND has beaten much better than these in the not-too-distant past for Surick. (1) CON AIR HALL gets much-needed post relief.
Race 12 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime
(3) BIRCH ISLAND BETTY qualified quite effectively and could be ready for action at first asking for Allard; worth considering in this competitive field if the price is right. (5) TRIPLE DIP was wide early and got hung the mile last week as the odds-on choice; price goes up tonight. (4) LOVERS COVE is reunited with Bartlett and they teamed up to win three back. (2) SO FRISKY was conservatively handled in her debut for Lachance and she finished willingly; more to offer tonight?
