Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(2) REDONKULOUS woke up in a big way last start showing a nice finishing kick to get it done at 17/1; nowhere near that price tonight but the Andrew Harris trainee seems capable of repeating. (1) INSPIRATION VIEW can be excused for last week’s race but the prior start he finally showed some good energy for a barn that’s awakened recently. (5) DON MCWHITE qualified effectively enough to suggest that the Banca trainee will be ready to go off the layoff. (3) KEYSTONE HONOR was minding his business at the back when the field was scattered last week and he came away unscathed and rallied into second; Laterza trainee has plenty of back class.
Race 2 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) CLARION HALL has been razor-sharp for multiple barns recently and he’s got more than enough speed to loop this field into the first turn. (5) SUGAR TOP has been much-improved since moving to the DiDomenico barn and he currently seems good enough to be competitive here facing a bit better. (3) FOR A DREAMER ships in from The Meadowlands where he was facing good ones in his last couple; we’ll see if he can handle the half-mile track. (1) DIRTY SECRET is up in class off a game uncovered score.
Race 3 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(6) VH PRINCESS BREA was out and moving early last week from the back of the pack and couldn’t make much of an impact; she’s outside again but Brennan sticks with the DiDomenico trainee and is attractive at that 20/1 morning line; worth a look. (1) KAY’S DELIGHT gets much-needed class relief and the best post; clearly the one to beat. (2) AMATEUR HOUR also drops a bit and gets a better post to work with. (5) ASKMYSECRETARY was a winner four back when Bartlett drove.
Race 4 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(5) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE hasn’t done much off the recent Temming claim but this looks like a spot where Stratton can try to take these down the road. (1) CHECKERED PAST has been racing okay out of town and she should be in line for a good trip here. (3) SUE’S NIGHT OUT was facing better when last seen locally. (2) NORTHERN SWIFT is up in class off a “brush and crush” victory.
Race 5 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(2) GOLDEN KRONOS was used a bit in the early stages clearing the lead last week in his local return and faltered late; another chance. (3) FINNICK ODAIR gets Joe Bongiorno back in the bike after a pretty decent run in the amateurs. (5) DEKEYSER was very disappointing in last but he’s better than that. (8) MADMAN HALL was much-improved last week but now is stuck in the dreaded eight hole, maybe he can rally for a small piece.
Race 6 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(6) KEYSTONE NIKKI has been disappointing off the Allard claim but she does have good early speed and this is a very weak field. (5) TOPVILLE OLIVIA has raced well in her last couple at Philly and the filly makes plenty of sense here. (4) SEZANA N faces softer but she’s missed some time off a sick scratch. (2) PIRINEA’S PRINCESS has little current form but a good post and she may carve out a small share.
Race 7 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(6) HURRICANE CALLEIGH was a well-meant two-move winner last week and the Banca trainee is certainly capable of repeating. (5) AMANDEROSA had good speed at both ends last out in her third-place finish and she can be on the move early again. (4) IDEAL CLASSIC was Holland’s choice in her local return and she’s raced decently here in the past. (3) PRETTY REAL DESIRE didn’t fire in her first start off the two-month break but perhaps she needed that start and can show more tonight.
Race 8 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(7) ALTA SHELBY N has just one seasonal win and his last few starts have been rather dull but he goes to the DiDomenico barn tonight via purchase and seems eligible to turn things around; watch the board. (4) NOX VEGAS BLUECHIP is another in here going to a new barn (Mark Ford) was he was Bartlett’s choice. (2) INSRTUCTOR has speed and a good draw but needs to show more late. (5) MYIDEALSON N raced evenly for a small share last week and could do the same here.
Race 9 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(4) GRAND PRIORITY could not reach last week at Monti but was a solid winner the start prior, his first for new connections; Devita trainee should be a decent price in here and is worth a look. (1) OZONE BLUE CHIP raced decently from the rear last week in his local return and is certainly logical enough from this spot but won’t offer much value. (3) GRAND MASTER did what he’s done for years last week, which is drop to the bottom level and emerge with a win; he’s back facing better now but could be sharp enough to contend here. (6) OFFICIAL DELIGHT disappointed upon arrival, giving way without much of a fight; I suppose he’s still worth consideration dropping a notch in class.
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(3) HEREHECOMESAROCKIN raced pretty well in his first start in five months and he can certainly build off that effort. (5) CHACHING HANOVER rallied well from impossible spots in his last two and now he moves in a few notches and can be forwardly placed off the gate. (2) STOLEN CAR is clearly off his game right now but it’s impossible not to consider this classy veteran from this spot. (1) ART HISTORY has hit the ticket in his last three versus lesser competition and from the best post he should be able to land a small share.
